BT do it free on a normal 12 month contract if their has been BT service before and the wiring is still in situ between exchange and residence, and the BT Socket, is undamaged.

Skys line rental increases to £11 a month on 1/9/2009.

There are so many myths about needing to have a phone line to get Sky.

By having your digibox connected to a phone line you receive a subsidy, which in turn allows Sky to tempt you into using their interactive services.

You can elect not to have your digibox connected to a telephone line, for which you will pay Sky a pne off premium.

A box connected to a phone line is not required, technically speaking, for an installation to take place. Switching your card on, upgrading your subscription and updating Sky digibox software all takes place OTA (over the air), which means an additional signal is sent out by satellite to your digibox using the default transponder.
