SarahShattered - I think this is a great idea - it will hopefully answer all the questions the children are wondering about rather than the information adults think they need to know. I am not very good at explaining myself - what I really mean is that children often ask the wierdest questions as well as thoughtful ones but your chat will help thm to understand you DD - I hope your meeting goes well at school today.

Pigpen - I hope that your meeting goes ok with SW - there are some nice ones out there somewhere, a few in our office - but I have to add when one of our staff gave them a hand last year we called it going over to the 'dark' side!!

Right I should be doing the utility room - I need a kick up the backside - it is too nice sitting here with my cup of tea, 'chatting'.
I am going to set the pinger for 20 minutes - will then have my shower and report back before I leave!

    a reluctant Me

Just thought I'd highlight this as it's very important to me that people do realise this!!!!!;)

    Morning all

Rescheduled seeing work friend to today so I am off soon.

SS wow what an enquiring lot of 6 yo's! I think it's great that they want to know more. At that age it is genuine curiosity and not for malicious means. I love the direct questions they pose even if as adults they make us squirm! We have always answered Miss A & W's questions honestly and openly, that way they can not accuse us of deliberately misleading them in the future. Well done you for agreeing to sit with all the other kids and share your world :)

Hugs all round to everyone else and ~postive SW~ vibes to pigpen

Woke up with a migraine at 3am... took pills... eventually went back to sleep.... got up at 5.45 to get ready for the gym. Just as I was getting dressed the personal trainer texted to say she was ill so I went back to bed :o

I've now got up, caught up on the thread and have had breakfast. I need to sit down and make a list of things that I need to do today. Which includes making sure I go to bed at a sensible time for the next couple of nights as I've got a busy weekend :D

Triker - we do know that there are some good SWs out there. And that it's a very, very tough job that most of us simply aren't capable of taking on. If there is one profession that is over-exploited, under paid and under valued I think that's probably it. You're dealing with some of the most difficult situations, frequently with very little support, and you certainly aren't in it for the money...

Pigpen - hope the visit goes well.

SS - it sounds as if you've got a very enlightened school as well as some very thoughtful children there.

Methekids&thecat - hope they get your leg sorted out soon...

jinky - TAKE THE MOWING OFF YOU LIST RIGHT NOW!!! Now I know who to blame for the rain :p

Right... I need to find my list and get on with things...

  • Im back.....

Forgot to say yesterday - Mummyof5 - your DD looks lovely! - i must say that our DS's and DD seem to scrub up quite well when they have to/want to!!

I managed to finish one of my extra 5 tasks -

    1. Pay a bill for Mum - need to write letter with it.
    2. QHG each evening - will try for HHG but not sure will meet that - ditto the rain
    3. [STRIKE]clear access to utility room - tired of standing on things to reach the sink[/STRIKE] - done :j
    4. Clear hall - put up hanging rail for Mum's clothes
    5. Plant shrubs and plants before they completely die - it has been raining every evening since I put this on.

Toots - Purlease can I have a heart - whoooo my first ever acheivement as I never manage to get stars...... i know I will get there eventually!!!

Also put a load in the WM - folded some washing that was on the airer - it has joined the mountain on the sofa so will make a note to put it away this evening - don't want to climb the stairs again just now!

found a plastic box to put lunch in - why do I have lots of boxes and lots of lids but neither match each other - perhaps this should be on next week's extra 5 list?

Right off to make lunch and hang washing out if possible - a few dark clouds about..... Then sadly I have to go to work as need to drive 1hr 20 mins to get to appointment at 11 - see you tonight
