It seems someone will be getting used to the slackness of JobCentre Plus very soon.....and will get sanctioned too.

Another amazing person on MSE who cries, but as they do so admit for all to see that they are the one in the wrong. As has been said above, dismissal appears to be warranted as the ability of your employers to trust you has gone.

JSA is (contribution based) £101.90 a fortnight (under 25) and £128.60 (over 25) - that's until they sanction you for being dismissed. Enjoy.

There is no need to actually enjoy the fact that someone is going to lose their job, whether you think they deserve it or not. Absolutely no need. If you don't have anything constructive to say, then shhhhhh.........

Are you in a union? If so, they should be able to advise you, and accompany you to the disciplinary hearings. If not, you should try to get proper advise from someone (CAB or ACAS may be able to help).

I wonder if you the ineptness with which you gave out this inaccurate information - you didn't make any effective attempt to hide this, and were pretty certain to get caught out - could actually work in your favour. Perhaps you could argue that the lack of effective attempts to hide what you were doing shows that these were innocent, if foolish, mistakes?

Has anyone else there (that you know of) been found out giving inaccurate info on their application form? What action was taken against them?

Sorry I don't think I can help you. I feel sorry for you that you came on here, worried and knowing what could possibly happen at your work, asking questions to people that you hoped could answer them, and on reading most of the previous posts all I can see is finger pointing and no help whatsoever. I don't mean any disrespect to anyone but the OP did come here asking for help and answers to questions and as far as I can see nothing really apart from the OP will be sacked and to just tell the truth.
Sorry but it kinda looks like everyone is rubbing salt in the OP wounds.
All I can offer is sympathy I'm afraid, no negativity.

IIRC OP has been advised on being contrite at a disciplinary meeting and not try to excuse his behaviour. I believe he said he would behave as suggested - but I haven't read back through the thread.

What would you suggest? We help OP phrase the story differently to perhaps blag their way to being believed? In may years of disciplinaries I have never seen that work.

Sometimes, there is no happy fix, and pretending there is, and things will be ok, is of no real help.

I'm all ears if you have better suggestions.

Thank you to all for your response. I didn't do it with intent to give inaccurate information, I was just clumsy and didn't realise what the consequences would be. Of course I knew my sickness would be passed over. If I were to hide it, I would have made sure I got everything correct.

I know this doesn't seem like it now and I understand everyone's perspective of thinking I did this deliberately but deep down I know I didn't do it with intent to mislead. I am sorry to everyone who may think otherwise and will take what is thrown at me. I just hope for the best for me.
