The fact is you have continually lied to your bosses and as such no confidence can remain and dismissal from both is entirely acceptable.
whilst companies wont follow through with a dismissal on resignation they may this time as it will strengthen their case from dismissal from the other job.
But I have never lied before. I didn't deliberately mislead them - I was just too slow getting there to hand in my notice etc. I have always been known to be loyal and flexible. I just couldn't have a relationship with the two I was working with.
I can see I got myself into a right muddle but I think its unfair for them to dismiss me, as it was a mistake I made.0 -

This is why I didn't want her to give me a reference. I thought it wouldn't be worth it.
Sorry but what a crap reason for not wanting that person to give you a reference. the other manager you chose didnt happen to be a close friend or relative did they who would deliberatly spin you as a better candidate than you are?:rolleyes:0 -

It isnt unfair for you to be dismissed - from both jobs.
You have shown a blatant tendency for deceit to suit your own agenda. How can anyone have any confidence in your ability, commitment or honesty to work under them and do your job?
The answer is they cant and thus are entirely justified in replacing you with staff who they can.0 -
confuzzled, I concur. If I were your HR department, I would dismiss you for lying. One lie maybe, but referee, sickness *and* hours - and possibley deceit around personal circumstances when people genuinely need family friendly etc hours - it's just too much.
On each of these as soon as you realised your error, or that you didn't need the short hours any more, you should have 'fessed up.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -

I think she said it was 14 days over two years.
I wrote "approximately 7 days" over 1 year. Over one year it was actually 10 days.0 -

No not a friend or relative, just another senior manager who was aware of everything that had happened with my other line manager.0 -

I was internal therfore I thought it could be any and although the application said "current line manager" I thought this didn't apply to me. I didn't do it deliberately to mislead them. I had thought it was allowed.
I didn't lie to reduce my hours either. As I said, I had personal circumstances. I can't prove it but I did.
Yes the sickness is my fault but I handed the form in about 30 minutes before the deadline. There was no way I could access my records to see the exact amount. Therefore I estimated it.
Sorry but how could you read "current line manager" any other way. Put it down to a mistake all you want. You deliberatly deceived them
2) Convenient that. Especially since they didnt stop you getting FT hours elsewere which needed the change to facilitated
3) Well tough. You should have bothered.
You can cry about circumstances all you want but it looks - and probably is the case - that you lied over and over to get out of this job and for this reason if you are not dismissed I would be very surprised0 -

To be honest, I think you are being quite harsh. I have explained myself again and again. I appreciate it looks like dishonesty but as I keep saying I wasn't doing so. I was just slow handing it all in.
When I was offered the FT job, due to my personal circumstances I wasn't going to take it. Two months later when they contacted me, it had improved and as such I took it but didn't get the chance to update the other manager that I will be leaving in due course as I wanted to do it in person.
You have no right to go around and tell people what their intentions were. I came here for help and advice, not your presumptious stuck up attitude. Who do you think you are?
I really hope no company has made you a manager cos you'd really suck at it. You're a stuck up little arrogrant git who thinks they can go and judge people as to how and whenever they want to without knowing an entire situation.
I hope one day you fall into a sticky situation like this where you didn't intend to and see how forgiving you expect people to be towards you.0
