we thought £500. tbh, its irrelevent. he said / she said and all that0

Well, if £500 was agreed, then he added a zero after your wife signed it, it's still fraud - just as you say much harder to prove. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Talking about RTA, clients have set up a website about that organisation. They only survive by intimidating people into paying them money via the courts. Enough of the Empire Striking back, bring on Return of the Jedi

Your second comment what can they do, well in some streets the Government are giving the smaller Guest Houses £130k each to de-commission and turn back to smart Victorian Houses. They are made to take the Naff old sun lounge extensions of the front and take the roof extensions down.
The larger property's like mine should be Bull dozed, I'll be the first to admit that. It's a super property but had it's day!
Are the Government still giving the £130K ?.....if so I'll de-register tomorrow. We have a beautiful well established 10 bedroom hotel in Blackpool,at present in the holiday area. But apparently Blackpool council have decided to "zone" Blackpool, which puts us outside the area.
So other hotels in our area who are struggling, may well have the option to sell or turn their properties into student flats,HMO's or down and outs hostels, which without doubt will adversley affect our business.
According to our wonderful council there are 900 hotels surplus to requirement in Blackpool, apart from the four travel lodges of course and the four hotels that are to be built with the onset of the £220 million Talbot Gateway.
The truth is Blackpool Council have been and still are a complete failure, and to drive hard working hoteliers out of Blackpool, whilst blatantly spending the taxpayers money on completley useless schemes, that very rarely see the light of day, is a bloody disgrace.

On the topic of de-comissioning hotels; I recently tried to buy a smallish hotel in Blackpool to convert into a largish house! It had planning permission for the change of use, but it seems lenders (at least those to whom I applied) are reluctant to give residential mortgages towards anything that hasn't already been de-classified, even if it has the permission in place.
Some hotels in Blackpool would sell quite nicely as larger homes, but with people like slowdog trying to sell without success and people like me trying to buy without success, Blackpool is turning into quite a mess (no offence intended) of hotels for sale. Admittedly, slowdog's hotel doesn't seem to fall into the "potential house conversion" category, but there seems to be a lot more hoops to jump through to buy something, espcially in Blackpool.
I wish I had something more helpful to contribute. Good luck sellers and buyers!0 -
Slowdog's would fall into the category "potential houses conversion". It looks like it was originally 4 houses.
About 9 months ago his agent had 225 guest houses/hotels on his books for sale, I wonder how many there are now.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Saved by the bell........sold my 17 bedroom mid-terraced hotel in South Shore on 1st October 2010 for £245,000. A lovely family from the midlands bought it, full of hope for the future, fingers crossed for them. I feel very lucky to have achieved a sale in the current climate.:j God help the others trying to sell.

The above advice suggests gives a link that is now used by RTA -
rta-complaints.co.uk don't use that one, it will go straight back to RTA!
You need to go to a new site called rta-complaints.blogspot.com
where there is lots of useful advice on what to do if you are being harassed by RTA and an e-mail to write to.0
