But even then the quality of some things seems to be changing, even though the price/size isn't.
I had some honey nut Shredded wheat recently and I am sure I remember them having much more topping on them! I used to eat them dry, but now there is hardly any honey/nut on each square and they are too tasteless to do this now.
Anyone else noticed this?
It's only a game

Reminds me of the story about Lord Mackay of Clashfern that Stephen Fry told on QI:
...he was giving a tea party for some Scottish lawyers: some bread and and toast and this tiny pot of honey. And one of the lawyers said, "Ah, I see Your Lordship keeps a bee."0 -
Ilnf: do not remember exactly but I think it was either wheetabix or oatibix where the weight was nowhere to be found....
It's no secret the quality of food has decreased steadily while the prices have increased at the same rate, or even faster...0 -
But the supermarkets are making products smaller so they dont cost as much to make,0

Think of the bees. Maybe it also has something to do with the world shortgae of bees and honey. The 454g jams may just not be sustainable.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Yep, if you like honey and use a fair bit of it stock up now as prices are going to go through the roof in the next year or two. Bee populations have crashed recently so the honey available will be much, much less soon and prices will soar.0

Packs of beer have decreased from 12 to 10, bottles from 18 to 15 (irc) and the price hasn't moved.0

Thats it, they can mess about with our honey, but reducing the amount of beer we get is another matter. I'm off to write to my MP etc.
How very dare they0 -
I normally get packs of sandwich ham, used to be in packs of 12 which worked out quite nicely (two slices per sandwich, 2 sandwiches per day, a pack would do me three days). Now the ham is in packs of 10, how am I meant to split that?!?0

It's a non-price price increase, it means you don't pay more so it's not that bad. It's not a sneaky move to get more money, it's more a sneaky move to make it look like prices aren't increasing when they need to.
Is this a version of the "New Bigger bar" rotaion that is common knowledge?
Basically the chocolate manufcaturer has several sized bar in a product line. They bring in a new bigger bar at a higher price. Then gradually shrink the bars, dropping the smallest, until the bars have reached the sizes of the next one down. Then they introduce a new new bigger bar.0
