Sammy - get DH to do the oiling instead whilst you go out for coffee...then if it rains, it's his fault
He has to work! He also did the table and chairs and if the sun shines I will enjoy a bit of mindless oiling:rotfl:

Good news - BIL had op and is ok. fingers crossed it works this time.
I was feeling quite perky until my friend texted me about her birthday. I can understand she feels bad - she too hates her job but her head loves her and she isn't getting the same treatment as me.
she has been arranging and rearranging her birthday stuff for about a month - everyone is busy on different days and she threw a bit of sulk and soldiered on miserable about with the occasional moan - at me when I could make ALL the days she suggested.
Any how in the midst of all this my best friend's dad was diagnosed with cancer and she has just had a new baby so her social life is the last thing on her mind OBVIOUSLY. this doesn't stop the birthday friend bugging her and me with text messages and I just find her lack of consideration SO offensive.
I mean last night she texted and I wrote back that I was shattered and BIL in hospital and it seemed to be an emergency but yes I could make the 16th and she wrote back today - ok just wanted to double check
nothing what so ever about BIL!!!!!!!!!!!!
She just really is so bloody selfish (sorry if it seems like I am blowing one text out proportion but she does stuff like this all the time!)
and breathe.
right today i am going to see friend with new baby - any suggestions for gift I can pick up on the way? for mum what would a new mum like?
xxxx
I've got a couple of friends like that buffy and they drive me insane. Some people are just like that and to be honest no amount of telling them to be a bit more considerate makes a bit of difference, in my experience anyway. Sometimes you just need to look at people and see them for what they are, if you want to remain friends you have to see their selfishness as a part of them and know that's how it will always be.
As for a gift for the new mum, one of my friends made me a little hamper up, some bubble bath, a face mask, a magazine, a little tube of hand cream (hands are always in water with a newborn) condoms . For ideas for baby, I never had enough dummies and socks.:A

Luc - DD2 works at a nursery with a sensory room. She took Samuel round whilst DD1 and I were at the bank. He loved it.
I was too self centred yesterday to look at anybody else's day so I will read back. Sorry.
It is understandable my dear friend Bookie :grouphug:Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford
