speedos or not speedos that is the question

Options
hi all. We are going camping in France to the chateau des ormes in dol bretagne in a couple of weeks and would like some advice from people who have been before. What is the dress code around the poolside. In the pack that we were sent it stressed that shorts were not allowed around the pool? Now does that mean that everyone has to walk round and swim in speedo trunks? I hope not because i hate them things vsad.gif ....lol
The pictures in the brochure shows people swimming in shorts so im confused. Also any other hints or tips would be greatly appreciated. We have children aged 5 and 9 and will be camping in our own tent.
Thanks in advance.

I was recently thrown out of our local sports centre swimming pool when I was wearing speedo trunks.

No explanation was given, however when I got home, I noticed that the letter "s" had peeled off.

Speedos are only allowed if you are italian and under 30.

Crocs are not allowed at all!

They might mean that they don't want bermuda shorts, so if you've got a pair of trunks that might be ok? Tbh, we've stayed in a few places that had "dress codes" but normally only for the restaurants at night, and these were never enforced. What are they really going to do? Tell you that you can't use the pool? I doubt they'll care that much.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've been to that exact park, but 4 years ago and at Whitsun. There were only 2 days warm enough to use the pool and the waterslides, but I don't recall anyone from the park patrolling whatsoever, (except the lifguard), and there were certainly all types of clothing being worn. My own trunks are the "shorts" type, IE halway down my thigh, there were certainly people in speedos, so I'm surprised by this.

    Nice park anyway :D

It's a very French thing to insist on tight trunks. And it's frankly bizzare.

We've been to many of these holiday parks in France over the years, including Chateau des Ormes, and they all say shorts aren't allowed. I think the first few times we went my OH packed a pair of speedo type trunks just in case, but he never had to wear them, thankfully.
