Hi - you simply need to write back to say that you do not want them to handle the file and want no further communication, save as for an acknowledgement of your instructions or you will report them to the SRA.
You should ask them to transfer your file/make available for collection - if they don't do this within 7 days - report them.

You can nominate your own solicitor who can do the above for you. You do not need to use DWF (though they are good) - Do not look for a cheap firm - a good city centre practice will charge about £500-£700 for a purchase/sale - it is worth it - Pick a good firm with LEXCEL accreditation and you will be ok.

    Good luck

DWF is handling my case now because of the SRA intervention and will get my file off Stirling Law. It is a probate matter, not a conveyancing matter. There is not much left to be done fortunately, except sort out the accounting mess. WH had no right to give my file to Stirling Law in the first place.

I appointed a local high street solicitor to do my conveyancing back in November when I realised what was happening at Wolstenholmes. Wish I had taken the probate file off them at the same time too.

My reason for publishing the letter I received from Stirling Law this morning was to show the tactics they are using to dupe ex-Wolstenholmes clients into thinking that the transfer of their files was above board, when clearly it was not. I forwarded the letter from Stirling Law to both DWF and the SRA and they are taking the matter very seriously indeed.

P.S. - something else disturbs me. In the consent form that Stirling Law wants me to sign, it asks me to agree not only to the transfer of my file but to the transfer of "any associated funds"! Has a deal been struck between WH and SL to make sure WH gets paid? It's their own b****y fault that they hadn't deducted the only bill I have ever received from them when they handed me a "statement of account" on November 25th. I don't see why I should pay for anything after that date as they did b****r all for me except give me grief!

You say Nazma left Wolstenholmes months ago, funny that because Sheridan Wall of Stirling Law claimed to have received an email from Nazma stating that she was dealing with my mortgage on Friday 18 December 2009. Hmmmmmmmmm..........

Anyone from Wolstenholmes needs to come clean and let us all know what really happened fraud, incompetency are we to really believe that individuals were opening over 20,000 files a month. If one does the maths 20,000 multiplied by £400 as I know no one whopaid £99 totals 8 million a month per one person. The mind boggles.

I have no idea who has only paid £99! The quote for conveyancing alone I got from Wolstenholmes was over £500 with a £300 deposit (not including other fees).

http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/nazma-noor/15/3b1/7b6 On Nazmas linkedin profile it says she left Wolstenholmes. If anyone has a profile, they can try and contact her via there. There is probably not much she could do as she was only employed as an assistant but she may be kind enough to disclose some information.

Her main job really was to manage their affiliate program, and to generate lots of traffic to Best Conveyancing as possible

She was basically employed to make WH referal money!

Blimey - that was a close one!

Wolstenhomes contacted our firm, a couple of weeks ago & asked us if we'd like to refer clients to them. I'd never come across them before but a colleague said they'd acted for his brother and did a good job. I agreed and signed the introducer agreements. Fortunately I haven't passed them any clients.

Has anyone got the deposit back already? I phoned the DWF solicitor who is in charge of the intervention this morning. He has not checked my file but he told me if there is no search been done to my purchase, I may get all my money back. I need to fill a form which can be downloaded from Solicitor Regulation Website to claim the compensation.
Is there only one DWF solicitor who is dealing the
intervention or you may have different DWF solicitor checking the file?

I'd got the impression that they got all their work in via advertising -it certainly wasn't via recommendations from satisfied clients. Does anyone know if they were paying referral fees to get work/ This should have been disclosed to clients to comply with the referral rules. What sort of fees were they paying?

Guess who is living in Number 46, Mr M Najib. Coincidently, the Mayor of Burnley is next to Nasir Ilyas's grand house.

Has Mr M Najb been arrested or still hiding somewhere according to the link below?

Thanks for that. I was interested to know if they were paying estate agents and mortgage brokers for referrals and, if so, on what terms?
