Did he proffer any explanation to you for the goings on there and the hundreds of people affected by their incompetence? I shall try him again on his mobile.

No he doesn't, and when you ask him he becomes flustered and abusive.

Hmmmmm........Well there's no sign of my £42k until 2010 then, that's at least 18 days worth of interest that I have missed out on assuming I get my money back on 4 January when they "re-open". However still doesn't explain why my mortgage provider have referred the matter for further security investigation.
• Yes, I dealt with Imran Hussain direct last week via his mobile number and was able to get back most of the money owed (by my estimate) to me. It was paid by electronic bank transfer, not by cheque, and my bank confirmed receipt of the funds on Monday this week. I suspect WH may owe me more money but I am still waiting for the final estate accounts (Wills & Probate matter). I don't know if I will ever receive these or get my file back. There are still outstanding matters pertaining to my case which I know WH have not handled and they are holding certain documents in my file which I need to have returned. Thanks to this forum I am using another firm of solicitors for the sale of my late mother's property.

Thanks for this. I have tried ringing him but I imagine he is dealing with a lot of calls now.

Does anyone have his email address? I imagine if Wolstenholmes are now closed for Xmas, his work email may not do any good.

Try:
'imran1@o2email.co.uk' or imran.hussain@wolstenholmes.co.uk although the latter is his work address.

My story is the same as everyone else. However, I do not agree about the comment made about Stirling law who is now denying any association with Wolstenholmes. Last week I received a call from Imran Hussain who led me to believe he was not a conveyancer but a family law, litigator which I now know to be incorrect along with other things I was told by members of his firm. Following this conversation I subsequently received an email from Stirling law telling me that they were acting on behalf of Wolstenholmes as their agents and had been asked to finalise the completion statement for those ready to complete. I was suppose to complete yesterday, 22 December ( I haven't my chain has now collapsed). Acting on the advice of Stirling law I transferred £42k last Thursday into Wolstenholmes account, I am assuming it was there client account although this does not seem to matter anymore as I understand cheques have failed to clear having being issued from the client account, anyway I have not seen or heard anything in respect of my money since last Thursday. When I contacted Stirling law last Friday having received a panicked call from the estate agent Stirling law basically told me politely to go away it was not there issue as my file had been passed back to Wolstenholmes last week for completion. Part of my complaint to the LCS also is in part against Stirling law so I doubt very much they have been appointed as interveners and you may just want to check with Companies House the date of their incorporation.

I am sick as a Parrott as to what may have happened to my money. I am grateful for the information that I am gaining from this site. I urge everyone if they have not done so already to contact their local MP so we can begin to lobby for an extension to the Stamp Duty threshold for thos of us affeccted by this "scam". As well as to contact all forms of media accessible to you to make ths national news.

Is the "no connection" statement fro Stirling Law as good as Homes solicitors who have no connection excepth the fact that one of their conveyancers alao appears on the Wolstenholmes websiute.

What website are you looking at? If you google WH you will get what I presume is their most recent website. You will find a blank page instead of the "team" photos and it has been like that for at least a couple of weeks.
• Catwoman, it depends on the route you take. I can't remember what I did, but going into the site one way gets you a different set of pages than another.

I'll try and do it again (I can't remember what I did!).

Yes granted but it is an older version of Wolstenholmes' website you are accessing with this link. In the latest version the team photos disappeared when it all started to kick off in this forum. I wonder why? (actually nobody needs to answer that....). I think it's pretty obvious though that Home Solicitors' team is mostly made up of ex-Wolstenholmes employees.
• Well I guess I'm just another one of the many people who seem to be experiencing problems here. My story is much the same as many others; I was due to complete on 22nd December, my money and mortgage are currently sat in Wolstenholmes client account and I have no way of getting them released into the seller's solicitors account. I visited the office in Heald Green yesterday and noticed that the windows of the side door had been put through. I managed to speak to someone from their immigration team who took my details and promised to pass them on to Mr.Hussain. I have heard nothing and have tried every phone number possible, including the mobile number posted on here. I'm hoping that this whole sorry mess is resolved on 4th January, but my assumption is that they will not be working from the Heald Green office for fear of a waiting "lynch mob". It's outrageous that the law society can't step in swiftly to resolve this as a matter of urgency, given the position that most people find themselves in. My sympathy goes to the people who are waiting to exchange contracts and don't know what is happening, but an even bigger sympathy goes out to those like me who are waiting to complete and have all their assets sat in Wolstenholmes client account. I've been on to the SRA and LCS as well as a solicitor who specialises in litigation and it seems that really we have to sit it out until 4th Jan and see what happens when the office is due to re-open and take the appropriate course of action then. I've also had to arrange emergency accomodation as I was at the start of the chain and had given notice on my rental accomodation, with the new tenants due to move in next week.
