  • I was supposed to be transferred to the Manchester office from Birmingham but I can get no reply and have had no contact, luckily I had not parted with funds.

    I rang the LCS and according to them Wolstenholmes are still in business but overwhelmed, they advised me to instruct a new solicitor (because I had not exchanged) and told me to write in with my situation so they could assist me with obtaining my file.

    Whatever your position it's worth calling LCS (just search for Legal Complaints Service).

    I have also called barclaycard to request a refund of £300 I paid to Wolstenholmes back in October.

    Yes, I dealt with Imran Hussain direct last week via his mobile number and was able to get back most of the money owed (by my estimate) to me. It was paid by electronic bank transfer, not by cheque, and my bank confirmed receipt of the funds on Monday this week. I suspect WH may owe me more money but I am still waiting for the final estate accounts (Wills & Probate matter). I don't know if I will ever receive these or get my file back. There are still outstanding matters pertaining to my case which I know WH have not handled and they are holding certain documents in my file which I need to have returned. Thanks to this forum I am using another firm of solicitors for the sale of my late mother's property.

    I have emailed both Mark Hunter, MP for Chadle and my local MP as you have to start with your local MP but copy Mark in on your correspondence with your local MP.

    I have just spoken with the LCS who say they have not told anyone that Wolstenholmes is overwhelmed as they themselves have had no contact. They did however very interestingly advise me to pursue legal action against the partners of Wolstenholme for the recovery of my money I asked what good that would be as I am unable to get hold of anyone there.

    Having spoken to my would be mortgage provider Abbey, who have now referred my mortgage offer for further security investigation. Finally a bank waking up to this firm of crooks.
  • I have Just Spoken to Imram Hussain on his mobile he says if i send my bank details he will send an electronic transfer to my bank, would this be safe to give bank details? he says that WH are now shut for the xmas period. He seemed a very polite gentleman but dont they all my hubby says not to give bank details do you agree

    Did he proffer any explanation to you for the goings on there and the hundreds of people affected by their incompetence? I shall try him again on his mobile.

    WH have had my bank details for a while and IH personally took care of the electronic transfer of monies owed to me (a considerable amount!) at the end of last week. My bank has confirmed receipt of the funds. In this instance, he was good to his word. He was polite to me too at first, until I started to ask awkward questions..... BTW I have not been dealing with Wolstenholmes via their website but via face-to-face meetings at their Heald Green office since May of this year. I have never met IH personally though and despite him telling me he is only a litigation lawyer, as their Senior Partner he has to take some responsibility for all of this. Retaining clients' money will only add to their problems when the s*** finally hits the fan.
