Hi Tesuhoha,
I'm a bit embarrassed, didn't really want to be singled out since we all have some situations, but thank you though.
The number one reason I did post here was to get advice (as well as unburden a little) so I do appreciate your new thread.
I'll work on an SOA, I have the amounts owed from the CCCS statement but I would prefer to get updated one direct from my creditors.
Thanks!tesuhoha wrote:Goku ive sort of started a thread for you so you can get some advice. Its called help please. Hope you dont mind0 -
I am no longer in debt but a long time ago, (1986) I was expecting my second child and my ex decided the responsibility was too much. I got into CC debt paying for nappies and food for me and the children.
My now DH lent me the money to pay off my debts and when I tried to pay it back told me to pass it on to a deserving cause.
Circumstances can conspire to make life difficult for even the most careful of people and these days I think it is really hard to get by without falling prey to the ads offering easy ways out of debt or into it.0 -
Im really sorry I didnt mean to single you out, i just thought that on this thread you would be unlikely to get much advice because its more like people tell their stories here and the ones offering the best advice wouldnt look as much as if they saw the word help. I dont want to interfere but sometimes there is good advice offered even after just reading someones story. Didnt mean to embarrass you or put pressure on you to provide a SOA. Havent even done that myself. It was I suppose just my haste to get some help for you as it sounds as if you desperately need to sort things out and i had a look and you hadnt posted it anywhere else as far as i could see.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I appreciate the sentiment Tesuhoha, don't worry. I was just taken aback at how quickly you wanted to help, especially since it was only my first post. I've been through this thread and some others, and I wouldn't have thought that my situation was that special, and there are individuals around with higher debts than me. But I know its not a fair comparison when you just look at monies owed. What is really impressing me is those who are knocking off £500-£600 chunks off every month. I'd like to be in that situation soon, but will need to wait for baby to be a bit older so Mrs Goku2010 can start working. In discussions with my counsellor from the CCCS if that happens I could expect to reduce the period of the DMP from 15 years to just 5. For my part, I have been totally upfront with the Mrs, and even mother as well, so thankfully I am not walking around the house with a £31,000 sized secret!
There is a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel, on Monday I'm expecting to hand in my 4 weeks at my current employers and start a new job in May, salary will increase by £4k so that should help towards the DMP. :jtesuhoha wrote:Im really sorry I didnt mean to single you out, i just thought that on this thread you would be unlikely to get much advice because its more like people tell their stories here and the ones offering the best advice wouldnt look as much as if they saw the word help. Don't stop, please...I and other people will continue to need looking out for by people such as yourself on this forum. You'll just make it easier for us to find the help we need!tesuhoha wrote:You might find it useful Goku theres a post showed up now called First Time posters. I will leave you in peace now. I was touched by your story cos you had a new baby and all and you couldnt move into your new flat and your poor mum was trying to help out. Good luck anyway it sounds like you are beginning to sort yourself out.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Yes, the funny thing is the flat and the fact we haven't moved in yet. I considered selling it but that would be in some respects admitting defeat and staying at home with mother on a long term basis is out of the question.
When all is said and done, I may lose the car, but as long as I keep working I'll have that flat and be able to make my payments to the DMP, so that makes me happy :-)
The next month or so should finally see us in the flat and me starting my new job so things are looking up. With the extra cash I'll get, I can hopefully put it towards my own car somewhere down the line. :Ttesuhoha wrote:I was touched by your story cos you had a new baby and all and you couldnt move into your new flat and your poor mum was trying to help out.
