Thanks giggle that sounds lovely, although the whingy one alrady has a glass fruit bowl (I still get my hand slapped aged 25 for pinching oranges out of there without asking)

I know she likes nuts, is there such thing as a nut bowl (I normally just eat them out of the packet)

what about for the pamper type people gift vouchers for a beauty therapist

Thanks Laura I would normally do that but OH mum suffers with severe depression and refuses to leave the house, it took us 2 hours to get her to go to OH brothers wedding, it's really difficult because she doesn't talk and just stares into space. I want to include her in things but I'm not qualified to deal with this and wouldn't know where to start, OH dad is very possesive and refuses to acknowledge that she needs outside help (I personally believe that he likes playing the maytr) Last year OH brother and his now wife didnt get her anything as they said that she didn't need anything as she didn't leave the house, and bought everyone presents but her. I thought that was disgusting behaviour from disgusting people but as they say you can't chose your family..

    Hi Everyone :hello: :hello: :hello:

Well I've come to a bit of a stand still with the christmas hunt.

I'm loving the idea of doing hampers for everyone but am stuck on what to put in them. If anyone can help I have the following people to get for

Mum - not into pampering, has more smellies than boots, she works a lot and goes out at the weekend. She hates stopping in after losing my stepdad 2 years ago. Normal presents include a bottle of opium (my SD use to give a bottle of this every year so I have carried on doing it), dvds - I've just bought her the latest ghost whisperer for her birthday in 2 weeks though and pj's, budget of £50

Dad and Step Mum - They go away in their motor home a lot, i wanted to get them something for this but I'm stuck what to get them for it, they also enjoy cooking, travelling abroad, budget of £40

Nan - hates smellies, hates flowers, hates chocolate (her words not mine!!) likes to whinge a lot though, budget of £15

Nan and Grandad - They go away in their caravan a lot, like The National Trust, my grandad loves red wine, my nan use to do cross stitch, flower arranging but has stopped now because of her co-ordination - Budget of £30

Cousin - 11 years old. I have no idea what he likes as he lives in London with my aunt and any time I ask her for a suggestion I get told - anything will be ok, budget of £15

Sister - Still has the smellies that I sent her 2 years ago wrapped in her room, she doesn't go out as they can't afford, she lives for her kids and NEVER treats herself, she will be starting her first ever job as a volunteer teaching assistant in September, budget of £15

OH Mum - Am going to do a pamper hamper for her - have bought the following - Soaps, Candles, Exfoliating Mitten, Back Scrubber/Massager but am stuck at what to put in now, budget of £30

OH Dad - am at a complete loss, he likes everything for 2 minutes then moves onto the next time - budget of £30

OH Sister and BIL - Have just bought a new blu ray player was going to do a night in hamper - to include the following, blue ray disc, popcorn, wine, chocolates, popcorn - can anyone thing of anything else - budget of £30

I read all through the pot of gold thread last night and still can't decide what whether to do snowman soup or pot of gold so will probably end up doing both (pot of gold for adults, soup for kids) I have seen some disposable icing tubes on ebay but I think they have writing on them, is lakeland the only other place that you can get them??

Sorry for all my questions and thanks in advance

mum - nice top/item of clothing for her weekend haunts?
last year i did my mum a little box of her favourite things, this included hair products, a suduko book, a weepy book, a beautiful book charm silver and beaded, lily o briens chocs and a couple of other thimngs she likes. didnt cost that much until i popped a monsoon voucher in there. i finished it off with a small santa soft toy. could this be an option?

dad and stepmum - how about a romantic night in? romantic dvd, candles, wine, posh chocs (possibly love heart shaped?), fleecy blanket to snuggle up under.
or a cooking hamper, you could make or buy a couple of cheap aprons, add a couple of utensils, spices etc, a cookery book.

    nan - a nice cardi?
    a cuddle hamper?
    jigsaw/book

nan and grandad - a double cuddle hamper, could maybe add a jigsaw for them to do when they saty in the caravan?

cousin - how about a drawing hamper? im doing one for my nephew whos 12. you can pick a cheap 'how to draw' book up for under £5 and then pencils, pads etc are very cheap to buy
    or a movie hamper?

    sister - movie hamper?

oh mum - hair dye? hair products book to read whilst waiting for the magic to work lol!

oh dad - sorry im in the same boat!

oh sister and bil - how about a fleecy blanket to add to the hamper for snuggling up to watch the dvd?: or a voucher for hmv to get another dvd? glasses for the wine? maybe add some doritos and dips and/or the nanco cheese (supermarkets) and pop in one of them chip and dip trays?

    Hi stokegal

For your caravanning Nan and Grandad, how about one of these :

    http://www.worldoftents.co.uk/pyramid-19mm-corner-steady-extension-socket-p-2799.html

It's an extension bar which you use with a cordless electric drill (hopefully your Grandad already has one of those, or maybe that's an idea for another present!) to effortlessly wind up and down the corner steadies of your touring caravan. It saves so much effort, not having to wind them by hand. Whenever we stay anywhere with our caravan, we always get people going "cor, wot a briliant idea!" when they see my husband using his :)

Bit of a shocker today - my friend has just had a baby - she didnt even know she was pregnant.:eek::eek: She thought she had a persistent tummy bug from when she went to egypt. She had no symptoms or anything, woke up this morning in a massive amount of pain and 3 hours later was holding a beautiful baby girl. She's called her amelia and was born 7lb 11oz and docs say she was full term.

I really cant grasp how she just couldnt have known.

Wow I mean wow!! I've heard stories of this happeneing before but omg what a shocker lol!!
Btw love the name Amelia!! I am being nosy here but does she have a partner?? does she already have kids??
