Here is a pic of my joke pills. I couldnt find bottles cheap enough but found these business card boxes in my local craft shop for 30p each.

I have since found them on ebay 25 for £5.50 (+ £1.50 P&P or £1.95 max no matter how many items you buy).

They also sell the same box in A5 size which i have ordered a couple to turn into retro sweet boxes.

I then filled them with skittles, made a label on the computer and wrapped them in cellophane.
The skittles are 57p per bag (half price) in tesco's at the minute and i got 3 bags which made 6 boxes of pills. So these pills have cost me 59p to make plus a bit of printer ink - BARGAIN. One box has been made with mint imperials from tesco 37p a bag.

I just though about each member of the family and made one up - my BIL is a bit tubby and his weight is a runny joke so i made him one's saying weight loss pills - DO NOT EAT.

I love them, i think they look great.

I have also made my 1st ever nappy cake - i have put a pic on the nappy cake thread.

Hello! I am so happy to see this thread! I have a few bits and pieces tucked away for xmas already and a rough idea of what I am giving people so I just need to keep my eyes open and start collecting things to add to them. It is so much easier collecting things throughout the year and the themed hamper inspiration we have had from here has allowed us to give people very impressive gifts for very little money!

They are great fun to make. I have 22 more to make for family and i was really struggling NOT to eat the skittles as they were making my mouth water.

I thought these would also be suitable for my son's friends at school but instead of pills i was thinking of calling it a treasure chest, im scribbling some lines down for a poem but im struggling as poetry is not one of my strong points.

I havent checked if the boxes are big enough for a scratch card but if one does fit they are an alternative to the pots of gold.

    Nice idea.
I can't wait for christmas to come closer.
I've been asked to do some little gifts for the nursery I now work at, to try and raise a little bit of money.
So please, keep your fantastic ideas coming :D

Have you thought about making bags of reindeer food.
There really cheap to make, just oats a few sugar sprinkles and some brown parcel paper.

Here is a template for a paper bag:

I have sealed the top shut by folding it over and adding a sticky label.

Oh yes, top of my list !!! Thanks for the link.
My daughter was so excited and just loved sprinkling her reindeer food on christmas eve.
She only left the nursery last year, and gave all the staff a reindeer flannel which they adored, so they are 2nd on the list :D

Theres loads of ideas over on the handmade christmas list.

I'm wanting to make a few more bits whilst i have the chance / time but my printer died on me last night - over used the last few days so i have to be patient and await the delivery of the new ink.

Which is dangerous as i tend to go shopping online when im not occupied.

I'm looking for stuff for an in the night garden hamper for my DD 2nd birthday in october.

I'm trying to get motivated and get cracking, think I might read through last years xmas posts and see what I didn't get round to doing.
What with DD having her operation this week, think I'm still kind of 'de-stressing'.
Need to do a 3 tier nappy cake for Sunday too, just can't get my head round to starting it.
