  • I made these using frames from the poundshop.

i know my dad and brother are bad i did think of putting tins there but then thought if anyone will be sneakily eating them its going to be me. got a couple of bargains today, in asda shopping and saw roary the racing car walkie talkie for £2.50, home and bargains got a bob the builer dvd £1.99, and a bob the builder beaker (they had different designs) £1.49. went in hope house and got a necklace holder for £2.50, in really good condition unsure as wether to keep for myself or give it out as a present. i still have loads to do, got to get a pic of me, mum dad, bro and tom, so it can go in mums desk calender and really do have to sort out the x-mas stuff where does the time go? if tom has a nap im going to get it sorted so i can make a nice new list and know exactly where im up to.
and i nearly forgot i saw a 400g box of toffee and and hammer at bhs it was £5 but looked quite posh but im sure it will be cheaper elsewhere. also in bhs they had racing cars (different types and colours) £10 each but on bogof may be of use to someone with more than one boy/lad/man to buy for.
sorry for going on just realized how long my post is,
btw boots gift brochures are out got one today!

Just got back from Dunelm. In a bit of a grump because it started raining as soon as I got on my motorbike, so I was soaked through by the time I got there. The car park was packed and the shop was full of mum's with buggies who kept blocking the isles. I ended up just buying a tea bag holder/plate thingy for someone for christmas (Born to shop range-they have lots of fab kitchen-y things there). Was really hoping to find the scissors I bought last year. They were £1.49 for a set of 3 and they were patterned. The ones I have are pink with butterflies on and they cut really well, so I wanted to buy some more. The lady on the till thought they'd probably get some closer to Christmas. Don't they understand I wanted to have my xmas finished by now???

Anyway, the whole point of my post was to tell you that they have some lovely christmas fleece throws for £3.99. Quite a few designs-suitable for both kids and adults. They looked really cute. Also a cupcake shaped cookie jar. I think it was £5.99.

Picked up a few bits today:

Go these towels for the xmas eve hamper from dunelm mill they were £1.99 each and had 6 different designs.

Also got this gorgeous little plate from the £ shop which has a pen with it and says something like ''santa i have been waiting all year for you to come - you'll find my list under the crumbs'' so the kids can write a last minute list to santa with his plate of cookies. Pen wipes of so it can be used again next year.

Also i need to get the advent calendars finished that we started moths ago, theres a tree, stocking and the beggining of a snowman, all with drawers to put bits into. there very time consuming, having to make up each box outer, inner and then gluing them all together before decorating them, but i'm sure it will be worth it and so much better than a shop bought one.

I keep telling myself that im waiting for the kids to be on half term tso they can help decorate them.

Got a few bits fromt he craft shop today to make some door plaques that i have seen in the craft thread too. I have found my inspiration again, it was hiding under the bed with the tins of chocolates.

Yesterday I was asking about where I could get nice wicker baskets -
Dutifully packed myself off into town, with no luck at Wilkinsons or the Poundshop -
popped over to Tesco Homestore and got:

1 pack of plain baskets, 3 different sized baskets, £6
1 pack of baskets with beige cotton liner, 2 different sized baskets, £5

I know thats not as cheap as most of you have managed to get but in Chelmsford this seems to be the best I can get my hands on!

I also managed to get 2x cream fleece blankets, £2 each (they had blue, red, cream and green) one to go into my 'night in at the movies' theme box and not sure on the other! (they also had almost chenille type fabric ones, in cream, and a lovely duck egg blue, think these were about £3.80)

On the clearance shelves I found a box of cinnamon christmas pot purri in a presentation box with ribbon, 50p. It does look slightly scruffy (ribbon is loose etc) so I think I'll probably repackage that with some cellophane and a nice ribbon.

I got 4x tea light holders at 23p each, will split into 2 per hamper, I have plenty of tealights to fill.

1 packet of white card, kids craft section, 98p, going to print off some of the lovely seed packet stencils I found via the hamper thread and personalise them for my dad's garden as he loves stuff like that.

Bought Instyle to read in the bath, came with a free hand cream, will probably pop that in my mum's hamper.

All in all - I think I will probably end up spending a fair bit on the hampers, until I get the hang of the economising thing! I saw our Poundshop had some Evian products in this week so might fill my aunt's box up with those and the candles etc.

    Hamper newbie feels accomplished.
