Hello fellow-Christmassers!
My great bargain-of-the-weekend was managing to find a Louis Armstrong jazz album on vinyl in a charity shop for 50p, which I then gently heated in the oven (draped over a pyrex bowl) and moulded into a bowl. It was my first attempt at making a vinyl record bowl, and was surprisingly easy to do. I'm going to fill it with Quality Street (or something similar) as a present for a jazz-mad friend0 -
I have quite a few things stowed away now. got quite a few t.shirts and cheap gadgets on play. i think my biggest expense was ordering lucky charms from american candy. 1lb boxes. but £6.50 each!!! I've been busy making hummel doddies for everyone, but i ran out of wool, bought more and didn't check the tension so i now have 6 pairs i whizzed through making, 4 man size, 2 lady size, but the man size have turned out lady size, and the lady size have turned out tween sized. :rotfl:Well i guess you can never have too many gloves.lol. still got loads to do. have got loads of bratz stuff for my neice mega bargains in 99p shops. and i thought she was going to be the most awkward one! so both my neice and oh are now totally bought for. still have bits to get for everyone else. does any1 know where i can get a cheap stainless steel mug? bought a usb cup warmer for fil, but can only use ss mugs.Unfortunately,
MONEY makes the world go round.
Bah Humbug!!!!

Tesco have got 10 litre plastic boxes with lids in pink and aqua reduced to £1.65 each. Think they are usually over £2 odds so quite pleased (and the SA miscounted and only charged me for three instead of four so I kept quiet:D.) Good size for anyone making kids hampers.
Cj -I'm loving the vinyl record melted and made into a bowl idea, I've seen them for sale online and quite pricy so 50p is a bargain! Brilliant idea:T.
I've just got to get the snacks for my movie hampers, nearer the time when hopefully there will be lots of bogofs. Found out there's a place in East Kilbride which sells party stuff for Halloween and Xmas and also stuff like cellophane wrap in rolls, pull bows, etc in the Kelvin Industrial Estate so hope to go up this week for some of the cellophane wrap.
Need a trip to Wilkinsons in Motherwell too to find some pressies for my kids and thats it done. Then I can guffaw at everyone getting tired and grumpy doing their shopping in December instead of dragging my toddler round screaming his head off and getting bopped on the head from everyone's shopping bags...:rotfl:0 -

Oh eck-I'll never be organised at this rate:eek: Having a bit of a 'tidy' and found little scrap book I got ages ago I was going to fill with 'friendship quotes' for my best friend................well, having dug it out, and found the quotes I'd already got in My Documents...........thats another thing for tomorrow -bit or water colour to age the paper a bit before I stick them in.
Then I found a piccy of a pair of gloves...........plain ones I meant to get to sew a felt flower on...............I got some felt flowers from a boot fair ages ago and I'm sure they'll do................just need to buy the gloves now...................lol
Oh, plus poles for my cobweb chasers (meant to do them last year...........determined to do them this year !
Anyone else as muddle brained as me............I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Thanks for all the suggestions re Gran-in-law. OH bought her a lilac dressing gown from M&S outlet today and I will get her something lavendar scented from ebay too. He got grandad-in-law some nice pyjamas too.
A few savoury snacks for my mum and step-dad's movie hamper (Add to grocery shop next week)
£10 M&S voucher for my grandparents to go with their hampers (Will get next week in town)
5x chocolate slabs (Will I need to wait until December to make these?)
Something else to the value of £15-20 for OH (may just get an Amazon/Play voucher as I've already bought him clothes and done a movie hamper)
Individual cards, 1 "adult" roll of wrapping paper (already have kids leftover from last year) sticky tape
Secret santa - wait until I know who it is!
£15 Next voucher for best friends kids (Will get next week in town)
My snowflake window stickers arrived today :T they're lovely! Only another 70 days until I can put them and the tree up!! :rotfl:
Lots to do before that though - re-decorate lounge, stairs, hallway, clear under the stairs so it can be re-made into an office and not a dumping ground and sort through the thousands of toys!0 -
well the only think thats been happening here is my ideas list is growing. Not managed a trip to town yet for one reason or another, life is taking me over and all i want to do is sort out christmas early for once. last year i was more organised done about a week before the big day but even that seemed very hectic and stressed ( before that its been the christmas eve from hell , shop, wrap n deliver before midnight). If i could make it all between begining and mid december i will be a happy little soul, then i can truly enjoy time with hubby n kids. we will see how i get on.
Im going to do a christmas eve hamper for us to enjoy-with no stress just relaxed. Well theres the plan.......................sealed pot member no :0812011- £306.68 2012-£304.36 2013- £387.44 2014 - £441.43
£482.30 2019 £655.58

findingmyfeet - I'm sure I was more organised last year (though maybe not) this year I seem to have been at it since Jan 1 the aim being to have it all sorted by the end of August.........then it was end September...........now I just don't know
Still, what doesn't get done in time might just be half done intime for next year............lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
