What time does Aldi open on Monday? Don't want to get there too early, but if you're not there at opening you can miss some of the bargains. Missed their comi DVD/video player on Thursday---all sold out after only one hour.

Are we talking about the staff from PC World.

Staff and PC World in the same sentence? :o

    Must be Christmas ;D

    Seriously and On topic now.

I think, from what I've read, that Aldi are to be congratulated and not looked down upon. Seem to rate well on this site don't they?

I can't talk from first hand experience yet. Maybe after the sales though. ;)

    Great thanks !
    Nice to save.
  • i have several medion/tevion products, all of them top quality, the medion pc i have is fantastic, all top grade components and overall build quality is second to none
  • As far as I can make out, most of the Tevion stuff from Aldi's is just re-badged 'good' manufactures gear.

I have the 5.1 surround and can't complain at all for 70 quid a few months ago (apart from the lack of i/p's)

  • it was not long ago that Thomson was an unknown name in the UK but if you went to Spain or France, especially France where Thomson originates from you will see their products everywhere. Given the choice would you buy Ferguson or Thomson well either way you are buying the same as they as Ferguson are owned by Thomson.
It is the same with Tevion, I bet all the stores in Germany are full of their electrical goods, plus Medion own Tevion.

As we get ripped off in this country it is only the likes of Aldi, Lidl etc that can offer us better deals like low costs and ext. warranties as that is the norm in their countries.

You go to Comet and ask for an extra warranty and all of a sudden you have made a friend for life.

    Thanks.

You've jut convinced me that brand names aren't always the best.

    Happy Christmas :);)
  • That's an unbelievable price. No quibbles?

This is quite true - Their recent sale of computer speakers, branded as Tevion, were in fact the same as SMART speakers, and the only difference was the name at the bottom - also the Graphic Pad which sold for £25 was rebranded from SMART, which sell for approx £70.

I'm an Aldi convert, so I guess I'm no longer a brand snob !!! No quibble return of ANY items, what more could you ask for?
