I'll give a third vote for the Black Country Museum, especially the finish and chips. It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

If you do decide to go to the Black Country Museum, you can get 'two for one admission' (saving around £12) with the current Walkers crisps promotional packs - you'll need five packets.0

I am hoping to get suggestions from here regarding where to visit and then I can plan my holiday. Thanks for the warning regarding Cadbury World. I am looking forward to visiting Cadbury Worlds' sweetie shop!!
:D
If you go to Cadbury World at around 3pm you will find it a lot quieter. Most people are leaving at that point. It doesn't take more then 2 hours, especially when the queues and crowds have disapated. When you go, ask if it's possible to get a ticket to the staff shop - it's a little walk away, but that is where the bargains are.
As for the safari park, they do have branded mini-buses which I have seen there before. I have no problems accessing the site and it does say that guided tours are available at an extra cost of £4.00 person. It is a lovely experience, we've been many times.
Stratford Upon Avon would be a nice day trip - you can take a boat along the river and there are some nice restaurants along Sheep Street, and a nice Thai restaurant (linked to one in Birmingham i think) near the river which overlooks a boat house if I recall correctly. We watched a sunset there once, I'm sure It's just nice to wander around and soak up the atmosphere.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Does Cadbury World normally allow visitors to visit the staff shop? I can now access the Safari park site!0 -

Sometimes they do. It seems pretty random as to when they offer you a ticket but they definately do give them out.
I have a friend who works there, she gets me in but it's really dangerous letting me loose on that amount of chocolate, LOL!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Jo4 - I admit that I have never been to Warwick Castle, the thought of dark staircases puts me right off, I have a problem with stairs and certainly don't do escalators because I cannot see the edge of the steps and sometimes standing at the top of a flight of stairs is like looking down a ski slope:eek:
Hope you have a grand day out in Birmingham:D0 -

How come you are wondering where we are staying? We are staying outside Birmingham but we will have our own car with us. Hubby was a long distance lorry driver and therefore doesn't think anything of driving a few hundred miles a day.0 -

Oh well ..
was only going to give some guidance on whats local to your hotel, transport, parking, places to see & eateries etc , as I do have a fair bit of knowledge of the place, but in staying say close to Longbridge you might not be keen on say travelling to Sutton Park or Lichfield , or even avoid driving into central Brum.
St Ives is a nice day out from Brum then.therefore doesn't think anything of driving a few hundred miles a day.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
