We've booked flights with BA in June and they were about 390 each. I would defo recommend you consider that.

I think the BA direct flights are from Heathrow though, the OP is looking for flights from Manchester

    Hi there,

I am looking to stay at the bellagio at the beginning of June 2010 for two people. I am looking for the best available deals related to flying from Manchester, with minimum stops.

I would appreciate any help regarding the price. The cheapest I have found is £13000 flight and hotel. Is there any places I should be checking online? Have done opodo, expedia etc etc.

Many thanks in advance for help. :money:

We've just booked flights with US Airways, MAN - LAS, via Philadelphia, cost us £361 each. The only direct flights (I believe), are with Thomas Cook and they are usually expensive, especially with their stingy 15kg allowance. If you take a lot (or even a normal amount) of luggage, you will end up paying more again.

You should start looking on https://www.kayak.co.uk for flights, they are available now right up until the middle of June 2010.

Also, not sure if you are 'fixed' on the Bellagio for any reason but there are some great deals available on https://www.booking.com for the Wynn Hotel, which is easily one of the best in Vegas. If you definately want Bellagio, your best chance of a good deal is normally 3-4 months before you travel. HOWEVER, as long as you book a refundable deal (best direct with hotel), you could book something now and cancel when something better comes along.

If you are going for a week, I reckon you should get something for about £750 - £800 each maximum, that's assuming you want a 'top notch' hotel. If you sacrifice a little bit on the hotel, you will be looking at more like £600 each.

this is kind of cool - you can see a map of the strip casinos at different points in time from the 1930s to 2007...saw it posted on openvegas and thought some might be interested.

I found the expansion of Caesars over the years particularly interesting.

In addition to Trets' list, since you will have a car, go to a supermarket/WalMart and buy a case (24) bottles of water (usually less than $5)...plus any other soft drinks, snacks, etc. you would like to have as it will be way cheaper than buying on strip. The water especially this time of year is important and will cost quite a lot buying one at a time. Depending on how long you will be there maybe 2 cases would be a good idea. We normally leave the bulk of it in the trunk (er, boot!) and pick some up each time we're heading back to the room.

If you don't have a dual voltage travel kettle you can pick up a Hot Pot at most WalMarts and similar...and you may want to bring your own tea bags - some larger stores will stock Twinings, but mostly you'll find brands you don't know and probably won't like. If coffee drinkers you can usually get a coffee maker at WalMart for less than $10...we do every trip. :)

If you let us know where you're staying we might have hotel-specific tips.

Wait - I think you're changing hotels a few times but starting with Ballys? Will you be picking up your rental car when you arrive? If so, there's a back way to get into Ballys that will mean a lot less traffic..

    20-24 July Flamingo
    26-30 July Ballys
    30 July-3 August Paris
We pick the car up on the morning of 24 July and drop off on 31 July, unfortunately we are picking it up at the airport so need to go back there to get it.
Any extra info is really appreciated

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Why "go back" to hire the car, why not hire it at the hotel?
Yeah thought of that after. Had a look around and as ferf suggested Bellagio seems to be the nearest to us at Paris, but it looks like Dollar are the only ones who rent from there and their price is about £20 more to pick up from the B than Thrifty is to pick up from the consolidated place.
Still looking around at limo companies, seems like that it's gonna cost about $60 inc. tip to get a town car meet and greet, save $20 on car hire, but spend $15? getting back out to pick the car up the next day, unless some one can help us with the search, we only want a small car from the 13th. till the 20th of September (that's if we don't have it the first day). Best price I have is from Expedia at £101 from the airport. Does anyone know of a scraper that lets you put in a specific hotel to pick up from? I am having to go through each of the car companies one by one.

Hertz have a location at Paris - not sure if that helps at all...most of the scrapers seems to default to the airport from what I've seen, but maybe someone knows of a clever one!
