SeptemberRe the static shocks in Vegas... I have read that if you carry a tumble drier sheet in your pocket, such as Bounce, that this stops you getting shocks.
If this works (and Stoneman's recommendation also adds weight to the suggestion that it will) then I am going to be indebted to you both forever. The amount of shocks that I received whilst in Vegas really disconcerted me, to the point that I started avoiding certain casinos where I knew I was going to suffer the most, and when we go back next year it's the one thing that I was actually starting to worry about.
Plays havoc with my hair as well, tut0 -

Works for my husband too - I don't have as much of a problem as he does. He's also used a little anti-static bag used for cardmaking that I got him...but the fabric softener sheets is a much more sensible and accessible option. If you do find you are getting a lot of shocks, what he found helps is rather than to tentatively approach something metal, whack your hand on it quite quickly and suddenly...seems to help somehow, maybe because you get it over quickly?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Me too - and the 'conditioning shampoo' in the hotel is partially to blame in my case....so I have to bring separate shampoo and conditioner or else it's a complete disaster.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

December ( including Xmas and New Year )Sorry Luci , I'm reading the thread backwards , never a good idea!
Ferf , I treated myself to a blow dry at the Mirage last time, it was a bit more expensive than I planned but a nice treat.
I'll see if I can win the cost of getting it done this time!0 -
October , November:rotfl::T We should set up a 'static shock support' group. Honestly it's actually not funny, it really hurts. I found MGM and Walmart to be really bad.
Re people looking like your mad....yup had all that too, especially when I batted the lift button like a madwoman by wafting my hand over it numerous times and then trying to hit it quick and then shouting 'argh sh!!!!t' or similar expressions when I got zapped.:D
One night, Halloween actually, I asked this guy if he'd be so kind as to press the button for me....he was slightly inebriated and he used the hand with his drink in to press the button which resulted in him tipping his drink and all the ice down himself and the lift......:o:rotfl:
I apologised profusely as we waited for my floor but he was that pizzled I don't think he was bothered.
I can totally relate with the hair thing too......that was definitely an OMG moment when I looked in the mirror in the morning. I didn't know my hair could stick out in that many directions.:rotfl:DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08
