If it was not our wedding and we were not flying off for 15 weeks on a family holiday, i would not take my little boy. We are lucky that we have some very willing babysitters coming with us, in my folks.
That way we get lovely family time all together, and then we get night time play time with our son in very safe hands tucked up in bed.
New question, sorry im on a roll now. We are planning on flying down to LA on day 5 (friday)evening at the moment to have a day there before our late night sunday flight to the Cook Islands. Do you think we are better sticking in Vegas and then flying down sat and just do the one night in Airport hotel? The only other option is that we fly down sunday and have half a day before getting straight onto the cooks flight?
So confusing, so thanks for all your input its so appreciated.
depends on how much you want to do things in LA .
it is a city that causes strong opinion , and i can certainly see it's downsides , but it is a place you have to visit once in your life IMO .
Universial studios is good for kids , or if you really like movies and TV we enjoyed this a lot

however a car in LA is essential . have you though of taking your Vegas car to LA and then dropping it off there . it varies but we payed no extra doing it the other way around . (picked up in LAX dropped of at McCarren ). 5 of you ( and cases) should fit comfortably in a big 4x4Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

Is it worth paying the extra for?
Depends what aspects of a hotel you personally consider worth paying more for.
I'm probably not the one to ask as I don't consider the Mandelay a favourite when compared to the Wynn.for example but others don't agree. Bit like the fountains-you consider them a bore-others love them.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Whether its worth it or not is so subjective. I paid £100 per night and at that price i thought it was worth it to us. We stayed 3 nights, which was just right because as much as i enjoy MB's casino there just isn't enough down that end of the strip to interest me. It depends what you are looking for in a hotel though, and i have to add that we had a car when staying there, no way could i be down that end of the strip without a car.
I loved my stay there, great hotel, service, room and pool. It has a nice intimate feel to it, and we'll definitely return at some stage. But as i love the north strip, and W/E is cheaper and just as nice imo we'll probably end up back there next time:D:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -

Not quite so far to fly though (hopefully about 4 hours)
Flying back from LA to Cincy today, get home at 9pm then back the airport at 6am.
Yes it would of been easier to stay and drive from here but would of cost me an extra $450!0 -
January , FebruaryI'm looking to book the Luxor through sites other than their own but I'm not sure if the prices quoted include the resort fee. It's usually not mentioned. Can anyone help? How does it usually work?OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090

I am planning to go in apr 2010 want to ask a few qustions.
Found the cheapest strip hotel to be at Circus Circus (approx. $400 for 10 nights) and if I book through their website will it treated as a foreign transaction and be charged currency conversions? If so would using my Nationwide CC be the best option?
Is it possible to book a Grand Canyon day trip when we're in Vegas, as I'd prefer to do that than book that here in the UK before hand.
What is this $20 trick? for the life of me I cannot find the original post.
Thank you inadvance.What's your style?

Yes. although didn't Nationwide recently add a small fee for oversea transactions . see main MSE site advice for details . we always use a credit card to book ( Post Office card ) . $400 for 10 nights is pretty good value by the way

Yes . loads of places and adverts for trips . check where they depart from though , some require you drive half way out to the Canyon to catch the helicopter . see links in post 3 for tour operators .
