October , Novemberfive more sleeps for us before we jet out for our first time visit. finished work today so excitment now starting. i also want to thank everyone for their help and advise but just one more question --- we are taking almost two thirds of our currency in dollar travellers cheques , can we just use these like cash at most places or do we have to change them at bank/hotel first?
thanks in advance and i too will give a trip report on our return 16 days later.

14 nights in MGM Grand for $1026.00 (room rate only, i will be booking flights seperate)
Is that worth it?
Is it cheaper to fly out on Monday as opposed to Sunday?
What is the weather like in the last 2 weeks of November?
Cheers peeps!
That sounds like a good enough deal to me considering it covers 2 weekends. Do you have a link to that offer or a promo code?
One thing I would say is make sure they don't "upgrade" you to a West Wing room. They are in a better location as far as getting to the strip quicker, but they are really small compared to the Grand Tower rooms and you may feel claustrophobic after 2 weeks in one. Davidmg also said the lighting isn't very good.
Tuesday and Wednesday seem to be the cheapest days to fly out. Sunday and Monday are usually similar. Which airline are you thinking of flying with? Play around with different dates to see the prices. I know with American Airlines you can see the prices a few days either side of any date you choose.
As for weather, check a weather site like https://www.weather.com We have been early November a few times and it was chilly in the morning, but quite pleasant in the afternoon.0 -

yorkie.
You can use TC's like cash in restaurants, shops and to pay for show tickets. You will get any change in cash.
You can also change them at the cashier's cage as you will need cash for gambling (if you want to) and for tips.
Looking forward to the TR!0 -

It's a good price if it includes taxes, if it doesn't then two of the deals posted a couple of days ago work out a few $ cheaper (assuming the last 2 weeks of November and flying out sunday means 14 days from the 16th Nov).
14 days in the MGM ...know what you are letting yourself in for?0 -

Hey there,
Seems like that price is without taxes. With taxes it comes to $1149.12 and YES I was booking for 15th till the end of November.
Can you confirm if I should go with this, or was there something cheaper? Can you direct me to something cheaper?
Many thanks!0 -
October , NovemberI'm always so jealous of pebble's long trips - one day we'll do it. One day when we a) get over our slot addiction or b) win the lottery.
Must be so nice to get there and know you're there for a loooong time. I imagine it's much more relaxing than shorter trips where you try to pack so much in.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Its really strange - you go to Vegas & meet Americans who say "why are you here 7 nights - Vegas is for weekends - no more" yet we all find ourselves either going for much longer or wanting to go much longer.0 -

The price you have got equates to the "Holiday Spree" deal. The Facebook deal is a bit cheaper (only FEW $) but how about trying out a few other places? On your second Saturday the Signature is only $4 more than the MGM rate... that doesn't include the resort fee but you do then qualify for the $50 activity credit.
with 14 nights at MGM you get with the deal
* $35 Dining credit
* $25 Spa services credit
* 15% off retail
* $25 per night upgrade to a Bungalow suite
With a couple of moves and a new freebie every move it can work out cheaper to move ...but on the other hand you wouldn't want to move every few days!0 -

It should come out at $1135.xx for the MGM Facebook offer.
I'm guessing you tried the Signature Facebook offer for all 14 nights.0
