Hey, has anyone eaten at McFadden's at Rio before? I went through and printed off the restaurant.com vouchers I bought during various sales and had forgotten about this one. I bought it on the basis that $25 off $35 meant basically dinner for $10 for us based on the menu prices and the menu seemed decent enough. My hubby is convinced that anytime we've been at Rio we've been able to hear loads of raucous people much younger than us partying it up at McFaddens and isn't necessarily keen on trying it for a meal as it doesn't seem like our kind of place.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Ferf, I think the partying and the food service at McFadden's is either at different times of day, or in a different area. I know they don't serve food later than about 9 pm.

How many weddings happen a day in Vegas?

We're gonna get married next year 10-10-10 and the GF is worried that everything will already be booked up.

Also anyone got any ideas on package deals out there? (wedding, hair, photos etc)
  • would probably start off with picking your budget for your wedding first as that is the biggest thing limiting it i would guess

I know this one - my husband did a pub quiz for work earlier this year and had a Vegas round. 315 on average.

And I haven't done extensive research into wedding packages, but always think the Valley of Fire weddings look really cool.

There are that many chapels out there, I would be very suprised if everything was booked. A few of them are open til late at night anyway so I don't think there would be a problem.
When me and DH got hitched over there, it took longer to get the licence than what it did to book the wedding. We got a limo ride to the courthouse for the licence because DH hired his suit from a tuxedo place.
Some of the casino's do have some decent deals, but the chapel we got married at offered the ceremony, limo, photo's, boquet and button hole all in one deal. (think it cost about $150 for us because we walked to the chapel so didn't need the car but had everything else.)
I'll try and find links for all the places we used and post them. HTH.

    we got married here -

And had the Santa Monica wedding. It's lovely inside, and youu can reserve online (although I suspect lots of them allow this.) It's inbetween Stratosphere and Sahara.

    And for the clothes -

i Think The Little White Wedding Chapel is open 24 hours .

it all depends on what sort of wedding you want , you have a huge choice of places to get hitched at . If you wanted to go super expensive @ Bellagio then that might be booked up full that day , but there would be somewhere you can use as a Alternative
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

3 more days to go. Have booked Terry Fator, that's it. Will try and pick up some cheap Carrot Top tickets from T4T. Looking forward to this trip. Been a long time since we have stayed down the south end (have 4 Seasons for 8 nights). We will be checking out NYNY, hope to do the dueling pianos thing, hear it's really good, just have to get my head around paying for a drink!!! Will give MGM some craps and B/J play. Will by pass Excalibur altogether (oh wait, they have the cold stone ice cream place, might just venture in for that). Going to eat at Mon Ami Gabi, Austins Steak House for the 241 (thanks for the heads on that ferf) and of course Ellis Island. We usually do one cracking buffet per trip and this time it is the turn of Bellagio, or red Rock, or M, oh well, we will decide later. Golf is all booked. 7am on the morning after we arrive. Might as well, we are up by 5am anyway. This will be our last trip till May next year, never been more than 3 months between trips before, but we just can't take another cold holiday. Gonna venture out a bit, want to go to Sams Town (OH wants a pic taken in front of the sign as she is huge Killers fan) Eastside Cannery and Valley of Fire.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

After reading the reviews on here am really interested in eating at Mon Ami Gambi. i know you cant reserve for the patio and its first come first serve but do you still need a reservation to start with? When's the best time to go to be more in with a chance of getting a patio table?

No you don't need a reservation. Just show up at the podium and they will give you a buzzer. We have never had to wait more than 15 minutes. Earlier is better for getting an outside table. we are early eaters anyway, but you have to watch for the sun. Do a recci first, see what time the shade comes over and book for then, the heat is no fun for eating out in. we usually eat around 5-6pm.
