While not exactly Las Vegas, were going to Death Valley in November on our Last Vegas trip. Was planning on going to death valley for a while however have now decided to stay the night in furnace creek. While not exactly money saving it sure looks nice! Left it a bit late so didn't have a pick from lots of rooms but got a nice room still.

    Has anyone been before?

I didn't think this Q was worthy of a new thread, so................Could anyone tell me what the spa rooms are like in the Stratosphere please?

We're stopping there anyway, just thought a couple of nights in a nicer room would do us a world of good. The website says there are garden tubs! We fancy a jacuzzi, don't know about a garden one whatever that is!! I emailed the Strat 2 weeks ago, no reply :o

"This spa room is basically the exactly same as standard room, except this room has a spa tub instead of a regular bathtub."

You can also do a google image search for 'stratosphere spa room' for more...but be careful as some of the results are not for the standard, run of the mill spa room - they're of suites.

A garden tub is basically a large bathtub - usually wider and deeper from my understanding of the term.

Edited to add - just looked at the Strat's website and it says 'oversized jetted garden tub'...which is what's in the pictures at the link above - larger than average bathtub with jets.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

yeah, we went there (the Ranch)... loved it - it's in one of my trip reports (day 5): http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11875873&postcount=2306

doesn't give a lot of detail though because in fairness, not a great deal to do there, tho loved the pool (not sure i'd hit it in November though!) and then obviously it's a good base for Death Valley so you can do a bit of wandering over both days... and have early starts / late finishes if necessary...

not a lot of food options obviously but we found the on-site food to be fine

not sure what else to say on the place to be honest :) they had a good golf deal going last time though (lowest golf course in the world?) - club hire and 9 holes for $25 i think :)

edit: i think we did it at the weekend (mid-trip) which served a good purpose because the room rates were less than whatever strip hotel we were staying in at the time, plus it gave us a reason to split our hotels (well... it didn't give us a reason NOT to split our hotels :) )

I have the Killers, Lion King and Blue Man Group booked. Also have tentative plans to see Donny & Marie again IF they are at Tix4Tonight, Lance Burton, Mac King, Jubilee!, Legends in Concert, George Wallace and Defending the Caveman.

That's a total of 10 in 14 nights. We will probably end up doing 6-7 evening shows and one afternoon show.

With Donny on Dancing with the Stars (US version of Strictly Come Dancing) starting next month I'd expect it to be quite hard to get T4T tickets for Donny and Marie Luci-but they are in London this weekend filming An Audience with...... and apparently are doing quite a few of the Vegas numbers within that so watch it for free in November instead ;)
I'll post after the taping (if I get in - I have tickets but with this show if more celebs turn up than expected they bump the public ticket holders) if it's a fair representation of the Vegas show for those wondering if it's a show worth seeing in Vegas.

US Airways now do flights (indirect) out of Birmingham . add the time and expense of travelling to London ect and Indirect might not be less time and hassle .

Thanks for the heads up on that Trets, it is definitely food for thought!

    Hey guys,

Think my last question got lost in a rush of posts!

2 of us are looking to go to Las Vegas in June next year. What would be the best way about booking this?

Is it usually cheaper to get the hotel and flights separately, or would it be advisable to go to a travel agents? Paying a deposit to pay the rest off later would be a very large bonus!

Not looking for 5* accommodation or travel either!

    Thanks.

Im off to vegas in Oct and i have got a question about Tix4Tonight.

Is it alot cheaper to order tickets from say smartervegas using discount codes or are Tix4Tonight around the same price?

I dont really want to tie my self down to defo evenings unless there is a big difference in price. Interested in seeing Blue Man Group, Mystère @ TI and some sort of magic show, not sure which one yet (any tips? :))

Spend time pricing the flights leave the hotel booking until after xmas, you may have a good package deal.

Remember prices will go up and in most cases hotel prices come down through offers

So price a package deal today to see what money you are talking about and the only thing you need to worry about then is how much you are going to reduce it by.

In-direct flights are the cheapest, but takes longer

    Good Luck.
