All the best Halight hope something gets sorted for you soon.Wet flannel is a good idea for the twins. When my DS's were young I used to fill a hot water bottle up with cold water and ice cubes and pop it under the bottom sheet in the cot.

Stefejb - hope the ear infection clears up soon. I know what you mean about floppy in the heat, thats why I am glad in one way that I have been waking early as I get loads done before it gets too hot, the down side is I fall asleep as soon as I sit down :rotfl:

Kathy - I am a bit wary of face-book, as if I join I will never get anything done  It would be like a new toy :rotfl:

Haribo - your garden is beautiful, you must work so hard to keep it so nice

donny-gal - fingers crossed for your DS today

    Sunnyday - thanks :D

Sheets are dry already just shows how hot it is PHEW!!!
Suppose I'll have do them with the rest of the ironing now
Must get some packing done, already done the towels, sheets, kitchen things, cleaning stuff and sponge bags so only clothes and food really.
One thing about going away in this country....no luggage allowance only need boot space.....:T

Forgot to say if anyone is in the vicinity of Walsall in the West Midlands this weekend, my SIL and her sister ( and lots of others) are abseiling down the library in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, any support would be welcome. Trust us to be on hols.

better go need the little girls room again, must be the gallons of water I am drinking

Hi Anne - that's why I didn't suggest you join! I don't want to be responsible for getting anyone addicted to anything (apart from knitting, of course!) All these things are so time-consuming, aren't they? I find Facebook ideal for posting photos, and seeing other peoples' photos, but I think it's very slow, which puts me off using it more often. I'm not the most patient of people, and sometimes it takes ages and ages to get from one page to another! I'm not sure if it's my PC or not, but it only seems to happen with Facebook.

    Hello all. *waves feebly*

Been AWOL for a few days as I just haven't had the energy to do anything, so am a bit out of touch with OS goings on.

Anyway, I guess Halight will be in the MRI tunnel right now, so crossing my paws that the results mean some treatment can be administered.

I have ordered myself a new handbag (my current one is in the process of falling to pieces). I had to search on the Internet in the end; looked in loads of places in MK the other day, very little that I liked/was suitable. The nearest to my requirement was priced at £135.00. As I said to Mr LW at the time, I should flippin' coco! One non-negotiable requirement is a long strap so that I can put it on across my body when I'm out in the wheelchair, so that no-one can snatch it; I have now ordered one from a shop in Belgium, will cost me £60.10 including shipping. If it lasts as well as the one I have now (bought when I visited Belgium) I shan't complain.

My new compost bin is getting used - I really need to get a little pot to sit on the draining board to put bits in prior to carting out to the bin, but I've only thus far seen them locally in John Lewis - at £35.00. They must think I came down with the last shower if they think I'm paying that sort of money. We have to visit Northampton on Saturday (car service) so I'll have a look there.

Right, I really must get off the sofa and try and get some housew*rk done. At least the washing is pretty much up to date!

    Good afternoon all :D

Just having a quick break with a nice big glass of water. It's soooo hot I can't even face a cup of tea, although I know that helps cool you.

I've watered the veggies, must get round to watering some of the wilting flowers :o Washing and ironing is absolutely up to date :D Nothing in either basket and nothing on the line or in the machine :j:j:j I expect it will be something salady for dinner tonight, again! I love salad but even I'm getting a bit bored with it. Still DS and GF should be coming for dinner within the next couple of days, so I'll cook something nice then ;)

Pippa.S, belated Happy Anniversary, sounds like you had a good day. I'm not on facebook either, hate missing out on all the photos icon9.gif Never mind, I'll just have to miss out, I do not need any more *theft of time* things to do :rotfl:

DG fingers crossed for your son :D

Good luck Halight, hope it's gone the way you want.

stefejb, not medical advice, but do you know you can take paracetamol in between doses of ibuprofen? I didn't until I had a very painful abscess and the grab a doc doctor said I'd need to do that to keep the pain halfway bearable. Just a thought, and if you do, be sure you only take the recommended dose.

At this point my brain is fried and I can't remember anything else, so <hugs> if you'd like one.

Enjoy your days, and don't forget to drink, drink, drink :D CM x

    Hi all!

Halight - You always seem so cheerful! Good luck with the scan
tiredmum - good news about your son, you must be very relieved.
hermione - hope your daughters surgery goes well
grandmasam - You deserve to feel proud! And I envy you having so long in Germany, I would love to brush up on my German.
Beth - nice to see you back.
Pippa - Hope you had a great anniversary yesterday!
Noahs - Thanks hon, I had a good look and no heads yet. Will give it another week and then just assume that they are either cabbages or sprouts as they as they came in the same batch!!
Jackie - Glad to hear your results were good hon. Here's hoping your DD is soon better.
Lamewolf - I bought my mini compost bin for the kitchen from Lakeland. I had vouchers so I bought a nice one but they do have basic ones that aren't too expensive.
Churchmouse - I daren't go on to facebook either as I know it would just take even more of my time away.

We ate our new potatoes from the garden last night together with an odd garlic scape that had grown since I last looked... delicious! We accompanied it with lettuce from the garden in a salad and had three home grown strawberries each as dessert. Tonight is more salad!!

Well we tried one of the cars yesterday and I hated every minute of it. The air con in the Touran we have just isn't working - so I sat in the car and just melted. It was showing 28 degrees outside the car and while it was Ok when we were driving at speed with the windows open, as soon as we stopped it was hellish. The Fiat we tried was very high off the ground which meant getting in was a little awkward, but there wasn't a huge amount of leg room. It's better than a lot that we have tested so it's still a maybe.

Just heard on the news about two police dogs that died in the heat yesterday after being locked in their car. Seems unbelievable to me that anyone would not think to get them out, especially police dogs where the handlers get such a close relationship with them. It's making me cry - a vet said they would have suffered for around 5 mins before passing out and then dying. Now the handler is facing prosecution though he is said to be devastated.

I hope you all have a great day. Warm hugs to anyone who would like one.

Diva...don't you mean 'cool' hugs, it seems so hot in UK at present??

We have had heavy rain last night and this morning, still misting down, it is very warm but would like some nice sun now...we might even get some wild mushrooms out the fields if the sun came out....not so common now, I blame all the artificial fertilisers used, I love the taste of wild mushrooms, would go well with the steak we are having this evening for dinner....2 large freebies from my brother who went away yesterday for the weekend...I would have just chucked them in the freezer but he forgets to use anything once it goes in the freezer....am going down some day soon to empty it for him!

OH was with dental hygienist again this morning, his teeth have become progressively more yellow as he gets older....nicotine and red wine would have nothing to do with it of course!

Halight...trust that the scan went ok...you really are so positive it is amazing, hope that it all goes well.

Hugs to all in need or want

Grandmasam - you're more than welcome! So glad I could help make you feel positive about your adventure in Europe!

Redruby - thanks. Perhaps it's my PC that's slow, but I had it 'spring-cleaned' before we moved, so I'm not sure. I've always found FB slow, TBH. It's what stops me visiting it that often.

Halight - glad that bit's over then.
