I wonder if with many other types of appeal e.g. dla and the old I/b most people will win the appeal thus proving the system yet again to come into question?
I'll try and find out tomorrow if the appeals that have been heard so far are being accepted (In general).

That would be interesting, although I suspect its early days to make an informed opinion

Well, in NI there are something like 600 appeals outstanding, once they are through the system (Which might be sometime of course) it should be reasonable to make assumptions.

I'd like to know anyway - its suprising that only 25% are getting by the medical.

I dont think the DWP always reads the forms people send in, and just send them for a medical regardless of whats on the form.

I am sure they didnt read mine, as I put something quite specific on the form that they failed *completely* to act on... Although mine was IB not ESA, they should be reading all forms with a fine tooth comb.

Not that they needed to analyse mine with a fine tooth comb, what I put was a big red flag, that should have been acted upon, but it was obvious it was either never read, or ignored (which would be unthinkable).

As for the medical, not had a NEW ESA medical yet, but if its done by the same people ATOS/Nestor then Im not suprised, all previous medicals I have had results for have been atrocious, the tribunal service has complained many times about them, even the house of lords is talking about how bad ATOS is reported to be.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

Do they let you read anything that they write about you?

You are entitled to ask for a copy of the medical report. I would urge you to do so if only to find out for yourself but the information contained in it will probably be imperative for any appeal you may consider.

    Welcome to MSE badboyjock01,

It is not possible to predict which group you may be put into. Hopefully it will not be long until you receive your decision.
