and in a wee note of positivity I've just logged on to check my mortgage balance and realised I only have one more payment at the original rate before it jumps down to SVR - almost half level of interest!!!! I'm not looking for a new deal as I want to move/or at least have flat on the market by June.

Flat is tidy, and with a strange urge to declutter (too much reading of Hypno's diary) I tidied out ALL the kitchen drawers and now they are lovely and organised:j...quite what I was saving the three thousand birthday candles (already burnt) for I don't know:confused:... and no it wasn't for my next birthday:rolleyes:.

Ironing is done and car washed so quite a productive day all in and only spent on petrol which is a necessity really.

lots and lots of washing to do... but on the upside no other housework required. Got the mortgage dates wrong (was hoping it was Nov but couldn't find original paperwork) so it's going down by £71 from 1st Nov.
Currently sussing out finances for next month...

Hi Skint, just having a catch up. I am on a mad declutter of the kitchen and today is the kitchen drawers 3 of them all full of crap - so full that they dont shut properly. I'm a bit scared about what I will find though - maybe a forgotten tribe of people?!

Your list is looking good - get the riding done, its great for toning up! x x

mmm... trying to decide what to declutter first now Penguin! I think some of DS's room while he's at his dad's is probably most needed.

Ah... the riding... have looked and it's quite pricey... now on proper full on scrimping for xmas and flat repairs so might have to carry that one forward to next year. money, money, money...tisn't funny...

A £71 drop is quite a bit Skinty, are you going to save the money or leave it in to overpay?
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

At the moment I'm shoving it all into my savings for the flat transformation (sounds better than repairs:o) but being the saddo that I am I've got my budget worked out till next summer so from March onwards it'll be the mortgage getting hammered! obviously if I sell and move in April/May then it'll be a whole new mortgage to worry about.... if only... mind you at least if the place doesn't sell quickly it'll have a nice bathroom and kitchen for me to use...;)
