I used to pay 2p for a bag of grease coated bits of batter dredged out of the fish fryer at the chippie. The sweet shop on the way home from school used to sell white chocolate mice for a penny each and giant ice pops for 5p. My bus fare home from school aged 6 was 5p but I only lived a mile from school so if I ran all the way home I could use my bus fare to buy sweets and still arrive when I was expected. Unfortunately the evil bus company brought out Kerching-a-saver-strips which meant I got 12 journeys for 50p but my mum paid for them in advance. I was devastated.

Scraps must have been an english thing - despite what they say about us Scots I don't remember them up here. Scraps were pretty pics you swapped at school;)...
Took DS to Silverburn today (via park and museums) and found a pair of trainers he liked that fitted:j...it's only been a month (ok maybe we haven't shopped very often but we've looked in a few places) so no more shopping for us, you can sense his relief. I did suggest we pop back tomorrow at 5am for the Next sale and he looked like he was going to cry! evil mother I know:rotfl::rotfl:!
Went for a wee drive past the new house site and that's a NO:eek:! village very far out and not too nice either, hadn't been for years but it's gone down instead of up.
and on a MS note I fancied nandos but instead have bought stuff to make fajitas and a bottle of wine for mucho less money;).

Take him shopping more often. Toughen him up for when he gets a GF.

Get him to buy lingerie on Christmas Eve for the same reason...

Have PMed you Elantan;). I've never used them before but it needs to be a distance learning thing due to lack of childcare, will have a look see what's available thanks though.

Z, aren't boys supposed to land up with someone like their mother? in which case DS is never going to have to spend his weekends shopping:rotfl:. I only go when I need something but that's probably why I never find stuff cos I get a fixed idea in my head before hitting the shops:o.

and I haven't given up the house hunting but at least I am a bit more focused now and know more what I want.

Well that depends on how common babes are where you live...

You need to do research. So you know what's available *before* you hit the shops.

I tend to go in, grab, and return. It's like a viking raid, but without the mustaches...
