My OH has received a letter today saying that his card limit has been reduced from £12,500  to £1000
It says that they review past and present accounts and also the check recent acitvity via a credit report check.
Does this reduction in spending limit reflect the credit report check or the fact that we have not used the card in years?

Sounds like MBNA? They have a history of reducing limits, ostensibly to reduce the amount someone can go in debt by.heatherw_01 wrote:My OH has received a letter today saying that his card limit has been reduced from £12,500  to £1000

That said, you imply by your last sentence that you haven't used the card in ages. Assuming there's no debt on it, why do you still have it open?Conjugating the verb 'to be":

My OH hasn't cancelled it yet
It is TSB
Can I say then that the limit was probably reduced as we don't use it?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
