Here is what the technical details says on the Dell website, contradicts itself somewhat:Dell wrote:Battery (4-cell NiMH )
Bullet Type: 4-cell (29WHr) "Smart" Lithium Ion
Bullet Dimensions
Height: 24mm
Depth: 54mm
Width: 250mm
Weight: 0.24kg

Memory has went up in price at LowestonWeb, now £28.340 -
Bubba_Shaboo wrote:The laptop as specced is actually £350.75 unless you're using the Employee scheme thingumy. I'd take a punt now and if they change the offer to a much better one tomorrow then just phone up and cancel and then order the new one. Sometimes instead of a new offer they just extend a current one so no telling what might happen tomorrow.
As a side note the 6 cell battery is (I believe) a Li-ion one whereas the 4 cell is NiMh so even more reason to spec the upgraded battery.

Cheers for the advice. Just done it, although not sure if it will go through!Used the EPP link, so paid £326. Problem might be that my delivery address is different to my billing address (work) and it does say that the addresses must both be registered with my credit card... obviously the work one isnt!0 -
smsmasters wrote:Has your laptop arrived yet? Are you 100% sure they won't ask me anything about McDonalds?
Looks like you've got away with it if your laptop has been put into production and you haven't already been contacted. BTW McDonalds/DELL EPP uses a different link to the one you have posted, so I think you've been doubly lucky!0 -

Yeah just checked and it seems they're all Li-ion: http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/learnmore/learnmore.aspx?c=uk&cs=dhshs1&l=en&ref=CFG&s=dhs&~id=batteries&~lt=popup&~series=all&~subcat=gen&~tab=detailsKilty wrote::mad:

I know, I've been on and off the site ever since I ordered the lappy but I'm having to wait until payday before I can buy - that's if my fellow MSE'ers have left any in stock

Walsh Western take them out of the Irish Republic, but the mainland delivery is often via UPS or Business Post, and they usually go via the continent...Thanks to all who post constructively.

Your order is currently with the carrier and a detailed status on your delivery should be available shortly
smsmasters - UPS for me, think it varies depending on where you are located.
Good to hear. When did you order and what was the original estimated delivery date?0 -
