If they attempt delivery on the 24th and there is nobody here, would I be able to arrange for the courier to re-attempt on the 29th or later?0

Yeah, I'm hoping mine is here by the end of the week too
Not likely though, and I might do as you say, if it isnt despatched then give Dell a ring and tell them what days I'd be able to take delivery..........
Is there a number I can use to get right through to them in Ireland instead of being directed to the Indian call centre?0 -
So I tapped one of them into the Dell website and when you look at the original configuration sheet it said "refurb"....
...so are they really 'new' as these guys claim? Thanks to all who post constructively.
Have an A1 day!0 -

I got 01344 860 456 off saynoto ... I wasn't able to get through on it though ... engaged tone I think .... I think on saynoto0870, it says to ask for 'sales' and they should put you through!
I rang the 0870 number and was put through to an Indian call centre .... couldn't stop laugh though 'cos the lady kept saying 'pardon' 'excuse me' .. she couldn't understand me :rotfl: I think that was probably due more to my 'erming' and 'ahhing' when I was trying to think of the proper technical language to use ... the 'thingy that you put those little plastic rectangle things in" didn't get understood very well:oI can say whatever I like here ... Roger_Rampant wrote:The Dell Outlet sells PCs which have been returned for a number of reasons, and quite often it's simply something that somebody opened then decided they didn't want. Although theoretically they are refurbished, in reality most of them aren't
So it goes back - they replace any worn looking plastics and the motherboard, clean and box it up, and out it goes as a refurb after a fresh software install. Still means though that you have a machine with heavy use under its belt and a higher propensity of failure than a brand new one (the hard disc has been spinning away, the DVD laser has been slowly deteriorating, it's been sat next to a fan heater...). My point is that you just don't know!
Sure they'll fix it within the warranty period (hassle, loss of use), but after that, you're on your own!The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!
