Here's some way I live to help me overpay my mortgage (might be of use to you)...
- Never shop at the same supermarket twice (they all have their own specialisms/ bargains)
- Always cross-question branded (what are you getting extra for your money)
- Buy second hand books (gives money to charity too)
- Don't bother with satalite TV, gym subscriptions etc
- Don't use credit cards (if you can 't afford it, you can't afford it!)
- Cook food from scratch (healthier too) and make in bulk (use for lunches etc)
- Remember with food, it's 'best before' not necessarily 'throw away after'
- Eat less meat try to reduce portion size if you're overwight (also heathier too)
- Don't go to the sales unless you actually need something
- Finally and I appreciate it's not for all... brew your own beer!

Buy in bulk. Toilet rolls, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, shower gel, bin bags etc. all in whatever bulk is best, you can store and afford. Buy toiletries from Superdrug when on offer and get Topcashback up to 9% (last time I looked).
Learn the price of things, so you can mentally compare. Asda for instance has £1 events on toiletries / soaps about 4 times a year with some offers like 50p for a Fairy Liquid. Time to fill your boots then. Buy 100 if you can.0 -

Well done Barney. Loads of little overpayments make all the difference Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
September 2016 - Back into clearing a mortgage - Was due to be paid off in 32 years in March 2047 -
April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045
Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 20370 -
