NYK, you do make me chuckle, blaspheming on a public forum!! Whilst I like crisply ironed clothes, I don't do it very often, ditto hoovering (well, I suppose I hoover more frequently than I iron, just!)

Another vote for CW18 for chancellor, you'd make a fantastic job! MrDT would be good somewhere in the cabinet too.

DD and I want to have sheep in our mythical farm, for milk, wool and lawnowing. Not too far from my parents there is a lovely old country church that has gorgeous black sheep living in the graveyard mowing the lawn, such a great idea. I think our old village church used to do the same when I was little, much better for the environment than a petrol lawnmower!

    I luuuuurve bats.

Closest I've ever been to one was in a cathedral, when the in-built radar of one them failed and it flew into a pillar. The poor things was lying of the floor totally stunned, but it fastinating to see it so close up (and to see just how furry their bodies actually are).

We used to regularly have three or four doing a 'low altitude fly by' outside the front door of our last house in the early evenings as it started to turn dark - and I loved standing outside watching them.

We have a pipistral nesting in the eves of our house, it does the twilight flying routine as well.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman

Hi all, feeling a bit gloomy about the cottage, it's as though I've come really near my dream and am having it taken away. This feeling had to come but p** to it! No time now and it's not a dead cert just looking increasingly unlikely.

    Back later.

As for the latter -- let's just say that's another appliance that I know I have in the house somewhere. ....

so , cw, how is the declutter going...:D

Love the sheeps link nyk:rotfl: (and by default SM:rotfl:). And I love the idea of the Harris meet:T. Might even beable to persaude OH to come up.

If CW is chancellor(for which I third) is Nyk, president, queen or duchess? I fancy Duchess, if she has taken to doing house work in 4" heels:D.

I've been giving my july accounts a good over haul and a general mid year examination of 4k budget and everything else budget and tweeking things: as you say cheryl - this is our 1st full year so we are still learning. It is interesting to see what I well over estimated and under estimated.

Good news for us is that OH has just been offered a winter seasonal post which is very cheering as it was looking like back to the job centre in Sept when this post ends. Money is complete pants but it is so much better than nothing and keeps him fit and active and getting his face seen for any other opportunities, so we are happy:j.

Very impressed with starting efforts of c25k challenge SM, lingo & Nyk (have I mssed anyone?).
And good luck with your interview tomorrow Lynne :T

I'd assumed Prime Minister, but you're totally right about the Duchess title :rotfl:

Alright, I couldn't resist this and I'm sure SM will forgive me for sharing it with you all.

I know I said be frugal, keep warm, budget for your groceries and grow your own where possible, but this really is taking it to the next level:

Question: What can mow your lawn, provide you with winter woolies, fill your freezer and give you a sheepskin coat for free?

    Answer: Sheep :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Lol , woolly slippers anyone???
Think we chased these same two culprits out same way the other week, may be time for OH to do something with the wall. Still laughing at the mental picture of Nyk chasing sheep dressed in wedding outfit, 4 inch heels and a fascinator ... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hope you are feeling better shaz

BB - Really happy about OH's seasonal work, his self esteem must have had a big boost through this job,it would have been such a shame for it to end completely and I love the area he gets to work in:jWho knows what it may lead to in the future:D

Frugal bargains for me today - ordered a free dvd from cd wow after they sent me a £3 e voucher, and booked a free eye test at asda after they sent me a voucher in post saving £15.This came at right time as I have had a few episodes of blurry vision lately so was going to book a test just to get it checked out. Previous prescription few years ago was just for anti glare specs for computer at work.

Great news about OH's work BB :T
    Thanks Shaz :(

I always feel like a bloke in drag too Shaz :rotfl: so can we opt for a non-smart frugal meet? :D

The tenant for the house pulled out this afternoon. Seems our trip is a little ill-fated...
