Am leaving this afternoon. :jWe are staying with Mr SFT's parents tonight as they are closer to Heathrow and can drop us off at 4.20am tomorrow.
So am lurking and thanking.
Just didn't want to forget to say goodbye, esp to Bails.
Boomdocker-Long time no see-yes, this is the toucan adventure (my dream was to see a toucan in the wild and Central America is the place). Seems like forever since I first mentioned it. Hope you are ok.

the latest catalogue fell through my letterbox yesterday.
Funny thing is I have some Kilner Jars from over 30 yrs ago,(mum & dad used to do bottled fruit) but haven't got the seals, will have to check the rings as well.
Whats the betting the new seals etc are the wrong size!!
Also noticed the Eas!-yo yog flask was reduced to £6 plus change. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).

Morning Lakeland junkies and everyone else!
Whitewing, I love the Pied Piper idea, do I get to pop into each of your houses on the way for a cuppa and a wealth of knowledge? Jedi Bails comes to learn from the Masters - 'I am young but I will learn'
:rotfl:I was also going to suggest you may be able to pop in to Grandma's but secretly I thought it might be a step too far that someone else had bought the gadget of your dreams SM :rotfl:Hope they both arrive safely and you enjoy them :T (and that Mr SM doens't freeze :rotfl:)
It is incredibly expensive down here Nyk, Bath is especially bad  When I think that the property I was buying in Scotland was 45k... Anyhoo, this is where I have to live so need to make the best of it. The guy isn't in a rush to sell as, well a) he has a lot of work to do on it (OH's other comment last night - 'it really is only a shell' :rotfl:) and b) he wants to wait for the market to improve - he says he needs to make 250 to make any profit on it  However, it is a lovely property with great potential for us and our lives and would get me the proper country feel I crave while being no further away from town for OH; extremely hard to find. Of course we don't have that kind of money either but OH's plan is to ask if his parents would stand guarantor. In the amazing ideal world I currently live inif we could keep this place, we could hopefully use some of the rental value to help with the mortgage on the other house, and my MSE skills, which are improving all the time, could make the rest of our money streeeeeeetch enough to still pay the bills and give us some quality of life. Possible? Who knows? Exciting? Definitely! :j
Not long til the toucans SFT :j and so well deserved after all the hard work you put in with your GB :TThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

SFT - have a wonderful trip and thank you all travellers for inspiring me, I'm looking at websites for ideas for either Canada/Australia...but do also have plans to start overpaying my massive mortgage as well. Good job my childcare costs are going down in September so I might have a few spare pennies each month to put in the terramundi :T
NYK - I, fortunately or unfortunately, have a mortgage that is about the size of the national debt of a small country! Whilst I'm proud that I've managed, mostly on my own, to keep the roof over our heads as a single parent, every time I come to remortgage, it's a very delicate operation as I make sure the finances show I'm earning enough from various sources to get the multiplier right. Gulp. But I'm okay for another 3 years, woo hoo
My early morning trawl of the internet was very fruitful, I'm now planning on making more of my own stuff, whether it's food or bits for around the house or presents for everyone this Christmas! The first plan is to make a 'chicken doorstop' with DD, think it'll be a plan for this afternoon as the weather is grim and I don't want her watching too much TV  (which is what she's doing now!)0 -
It's my birthday , yeah. Only perhaps not as much celebrating as I used to! Got a Wii Sports Active in an attempt to get fit together with a gym ball. A box of Thorntons to undo any good work! A book, a cheque and another pressie I can't open until the children come home from holiday with Grandma.
Plus not really birthdayey and not wrapped, but some new towels I love fluffy towels and egyptian cotton sheets ( got a new sheet too.)
I also got a cuddle from my biggest cat he is 18 1/2 lbs yes you did read that right! He is still growing at 18 months! ( a beautiful blue Maine Coon neuter boy we bred )He likes to sit on my chest ( just as well I am well endowed!)
Chicken doorstop, Kittikins? Looking for activites for kids for hols, what is that?0 -

This will be a great way of storing batch cooked meals/sauces/stews/pates etc without having to use the freezer, so saves on electricity costs tooplus there isn't the worry about losing lots of foodstuffs in the case of powercuts.
Presuming it arrives safely I can see my pressure canner being very useful in frugaldom as there is only so much you can preserve without using one of these.0
