:j :T I'm currently rediculously unfit (though improving ) and am clinically/morbidly obese :o with foot problems so I'm not fit enough to do it now either! The dream of going there, however, is a big motivation to do something about my weight and fitness levels. 11lb lost since the start of June... about a million to go! I WILL DO IT!

That sounds so like me too (except I haven't lost 11lbs :rotfl:)
I'd love to go to Machu Picchu too, ever since someone at work went a few years ago and we all saw her amazing photos. I didn't know anyone to go with, (and could never have afforded it). Maybe this is the motivation I need to lose weight, get fit and save money!

How about you just visit Scotland, walk the Southern Upland Way and I'll take you to see the local standing stones and ruins? :rotfl: I'm sure that'll be every bit as exciting. :o There's plenty of wildlife, too. .

Nyk, a frugathering in Scotland sounds great too. DD is hoping to go to uni in Edinburgh, so I might be up there before too long.

Just two pictures from our holiday :) I would post one of me at the bottom of the steps to the Mamma Mia chapel but I don't know if that's allowed :)

    Good morning :)

Glad you got over the urge to spend on a purse, SF, I was a bit stunned as to why anyone on a moneysaving frugal lifestyle challenge would even consider such a thing - a PURSE? If you could afford that amount and still have money left to put into it then err.... I'm doing my challenge aaaaaaaaaaall wrong :rotfl: Love the photos but I wouldn't post one of you as there are too many wacko-types lurking around on the Internet. You don't want a stalker, or propositioned or anything. :o (Or am I just paranoid?)

I took SM to show her the forest walk last night, so she is happy that she's started her winter fuel collection of pine cones :) Future foraging trips being arranged along with all sorts of other stuff. :T

Off to hang out washing now. It's been great weekend here again, sunshine and blue skies.
I reserve the right not to spend.

    Good morning,
I'm just about to get all the washing off the airers in the house (my pet hate) and get anything that is still damp outside to dry as it seems as if it may be nice today. Yesterday it was cats and dogs here, so nothing could go outside unfortunately.

I've been okay moneywise this weekend, and am still pursuing the slimming world eating plan. Going out for dinner later (brother is paying), so will need to choose carefully. DH will be going back to work around 4ish today as he has a busy week ahead. I am down south twice, but will need to start preparing for my interview which is in just under 2 weeks. Have a trick up my sleeve to try and ensure that I get the job, so fingers crossed. I'm going to have a look at the berry situation when I go into the garden, the last time I looked the berries were forming and all the flowers were gone.

    Will check in later. xx

Morning, hope everyone is feeling better, up beat, and ready for the day ahead.
DS didnt come home last night, so I am indulging in a cooked breakfast to use up the last two sausages I got from the butcher on Friday. Useing up the rest of the tin of beans from the other night, and will cook a tomato that is a bit withered looking.
Doubt will see anyone today. No plans to go out as its raingin here. Washing will have to go on an airer. Going to have to Weed the bottom of the greenhouse, and put it in there i think.

SL, fingers crossed for you. have a good day :)
Nyk, lol I definitely wouldn 't have money to put in it, that's for sure :p and you're right, I won't post a pic of me up :)
Bails, thanks, it really was amazing, and I would recommend to anyone that they should go there, just for the scenery if nothing else! :)

Not at work today for the first time in ages on a sunday, so i intend to do some stuff around the house and then relax :) i was going to go to the carboot this morning, but I had a lie in instead! feel loads better than I did last night, thanks for putting up with me :o the weather is nice and sunny today, which always helps.

Have a good day everyone :)

    Good morning all!

Lynne-Good luck with preparing for your interview. You sound so positive!
Bails-We loved Ken's attitude in that series. Where else do I recognise him from?
Nyk-Just looking at the foraging calendar
    July - Elderflower
    August - Rowan Berries
    September - Blackberries
    October - Rosehip
    November - Gorse Flowers

Saw this on another website: Most people believe, that Rowan Berries are poisonous. That is good for those, who know, that cooked Rowan Berries are not poisonous and that marmelade made of them is very delicious, because they can find lots of Rowan Berries that nobody wants to harvest (exept birds).
Rowan Berries have healing effects on the digestion, the liver and the lung. This is a secret, that is unknown even by the Rowan Berry marmelade fans.

Love to compare foraging notes with you and SM when we come back from Central America as this is something I'm really interested in.

We had a fantastic drying day here yesterday..so windy it dried in seconds. Now it is raining and of course that makes us nervous. Can't wait for quotes to arrive so work can start on the roof.

Out for lunch..make the most of that...leaner times ahead..sft

Been too scared to go out foraging as I dont know the area. Stupid really you would think that going out and exploring would be an ideal thing to get to know the area and to get to know my neighbours, even if a lot of them are sheep.
Perhaps when the weather breaks and we get a bit of dry, I will make myself go out. Being on my own, I tend to stay close to home, actually close to the sofa and the tv if the truth be knows. Got so used to being housebound with my health, that when I am not running around after the family I am trying to get my health back on an even keel!! The fresh air would do me good, so I must get out there. Its rediculous that a woman of my age doesnt like going out on her own in the day time!.
