Yes mine was strange for a while but its back to normal now. must have been doing some maintainance or something.
Hmm strange things happening with my mse, all the thread pages have disappeared so can't read previous posts, and can't access anything not on first page of forum0 -
We have enough dried chilis from last year to do several years worth of spicy food!!! I'm refusing to dry any more! Will try frying them whole though.
I got my free case of wine voucher from Uswitch, hooray! I've just emailed L1dl to ask for a refund on the peaches we bought at the weekend, as they all went mouldy and rotten. Has anyone else had problems with their fruit/veg, or were we just unlucky? I hadn't bought fresh stuff from them before.
It was hot in London today, I was at the Tower for a meeting (luckily they let me out again) but the room was just too warm to be comfortable. I couldn't believe the queues at the Tower, it was packed with tourists. I forget what it can be like now I'm living somewhere non touristy (though I saw a post earlier that said one person is visiting Swindon this week, but now I can't remember who...).Live on £11k in 20110 -
Taka - notebook sounds great - i love my laptop as it is so easy to move about (currently checking emails in bed!!)
Bails - good luck on your travels!! i have been looking at my BMI diamond club miles and now almost have enough for two return flights to middle europe - so will maybe have to look at taking a wee break myself!!
TTDB - sorry to hear you are having a bit of trouble were you live. I live on a busy corner and recently people have started 'racing' around the local area in the early hours revving their engines and handbraking around the corner. i havent had a decent nights sleep in ages - hopefuly they will get bored soon.
August has been a dismal month already! I am looking forward to September already and its only the 11th August!
brighton bell - can you post the recipe for the lemon drizzle cake please?
Aims for this week:
1. Redeem all survey/cashback money to help get through tight month
2. Meal plan for next week and shopping list for tesco to spent £10 voucher
3. Price new work suit
4. Sell small pile of items on ebay£4000 a year challenge member

Hi frunchkins:D
It's been very quiet on here todayI have just spent about an hour watching canning videos on you tube, getting excited now at the prospect of my canner arriving soon. Thinking of all the lovely things I will be able to make and not have to freeze. pasta sauces, quorn chillis and curries for OH, veggies, soups, fruits, pie fillings, salsas, cooked beans and pulses, pickles, pates ..can't wait:j:j
What areyou planning grandma/shaz???:D0 -
I wish I lived somewhere less touristy, DH actually had to reverse someones car for them yesterday becasue they couldn't reverse because they didn't need to on the roads where they lived :mad:
I got a call from the letting agent to tell me that someone else had seen the house and decided that they wanted it. At DH's suggestion we went to have a look anyway and I'm glad we did as it highlighted that it wasn't what we are looking for. Its all been quiet with the neighbours since the disturbance at the weekend, although we haven't been home much as keeping the children out the way is the best way to make sure they don't hear anythng they shouldn't at the moment.
I'm really interested in how the canning turns out, I read a few American threads that talk alot about canning and have always wondered if it is as easy and convenient as they make out.
I'm taking the boys camping for a couple of days so hopefully the weather will hold out.
Hope everyone is having a relaxing evening

I had to smile at No2 on your list Ram
..my marathon retail session yesterday was for the same reason. I had the vouchers from the week-end's papers & had decided to do a bit of :xmassmile shopping to use them up so although the final total was £63+, £16 went on gifts, £10 for xmas stock-pile & two quid on a new fish slice & set of funnels.
I did have to fight for one of the coupons to be accepted though, as the wording is quite vague & obviously MrT's definition of some catagories varies from the barcode printed on the coupon! It was the deli one & it said "includes deli & hot deli counters" & the customer service woman said it had to be used JUST on the counters--is it only me who thinks "include" equates to "as well" , as opposed to "only"Thankfully her comrade agreed with my definition & she reluctantly handed over my pound. I think my lesson learned from that little escapade, is to photo-copy any vouchers I may use in the future so I have proof of wording & then I can write to the parties involved to ask for clarification
I KNOW there is limited space on them, but if they want to be so blessed choosy about the things that they can or cannot be used against, then they need to say so!
Sorry..:o..rant over. I'll go back & read SFT & Bails wonderful travel diaries & dream myself there instead

Good afternoon frunchkins:D
Just catching up whilst i am on my lunch hour, cooking tea for oldies tonight so we will be eating for free later.
Been trying to clear out my freezer to take it to cottage but the batch cooked meals are going on forever, I didn't realise I had got so efficient at packing those little foil tubs into small spaces:o Going to see how much I can transfer to other freezer (and oldies catering freezer :whistle:) as we are hiring a small van this weekend to transport my chicken house so would be an ideal time to move it.
Talking of vans when we did the hiring we were offered a chance to pay a small charge to offset the carbon used over the hire so opted to pay that, they then invest it in carbon neutralising projects.Every little helps I suppose.:rolleyes:0 -
I'm trying to clear our my freezer of batch cooked meals too to make space for blackberries, not doing too well though, I'm sure my freezer is like the magic porridge pot!!0

Someone on another thread likened mine to mary poppins handbag - been trying to empty it for months now lol:rotfl:0
