OOh Shaz can you find out if they have a factory shop? We are hopeing to come to Lincolshire again in October.
I bottled 4 lots of baby carrots,1 small one of sliced baby carrots, 2 of french beans with dill seed added all from mr t reduced yesterday and one jar of our own yellow french beans cut into inch pieces with dill added and had to add a few green ones as there were not quite enough to fill the jar. It looks pretty though. I also did 17 jars of the rose coco beans on friday and all but one jar sealed so that is in the fridge waiting to be added to a curry.
I will get ds 2 to bring the camera down later.
TDB I so know what you are going through. We have had trouble with neighbours kids here ever since we moved in. I am seriously thinking about moving. Our Aussie friends tried to pursuade us to go out there and it may come to that but not till dh retires because it will be easier to go then, main criteria will be having enough money not to be a burden on the state.
We will all help with ideas if you need us to with the budget and how to cut corners I am sure.
Edit: The best thing about these veg is I did not put any salt in.0 -

I'm going to have a mini challenge to se if I can manage to keep within budget, though if a gas / electric bill arrives I don't think I will!
Ahh but the greenhouse will save you money in the long run. put some stuff in for Autumn and winter if you get it soon. Lots of veg will grow its just they hate to be cold AND wet. so by growing under glass you control how wet they are.0 -
Hi all,
I've not had a lot of time to post as mum has been in hospital, she should be getting out today.
I have been good, filling in my spending diary, it is amazing where it all goes, but it's good to see exactly where instead of wondering about it.
TTDB, it's a shame that you have to move on if others are causing trouble. If you are in a local authority house just now, can you not go to the anti social behaviour people and ask if anything can be done? It makes me  that you guys have to move and the troublemaker is left where he is. You are quite correct though, your family's well being comes first over everything.
I'm off to the Orkneys tomorrow and fortunatley, I am getting a flight. It will be nice to see even though it is a work related trip.
Shaz, :rotfl:at scunny, I just pulled that town out of thin air. I'll bet it is a nice place and not the same as the name suggests...........:rotfl: I thought it was in yorkshire and not lincolnshire, so it shows how good my geography is.
Will check in later. xx0 -
Thanks for the replies everyone.
We currently live in a shared ownership property, there is no point in going down the anti social behaviour route as the other neighbours have already tried that for years to no avail.
Unfortunately the problem is domestic violence that spills out into the garden at this time of year. The terrifying screams and shouts for help by the women involved are horrendous to hear. We have tried helping by calling the police as have other neighbours but when they turn up she must just say everything is alright. She has left him and been rehomed before but still comes back to him.
We are going to look at the house tomorrow afternoon, I will report back when we have looked at it.

sm the beans look watery because they absorb more water over time.0 -
I know how that is, I used to live downstairs from a couple where the girl got knocked about. One night, it was so bad that I asked DH to go up, but he refused as he said that the two of them would probably turn on him as he had dealt with that sort of thing before.
I don't understand why they put up with it. I agree, it's not good for your kids to see that sort of thing.
Good luck with it all. xx0 -

TTDB - total sympathy - that sounds an awful situation and I would hate to feel trapped into having to put up with it. With out knowing much about your circs, moving sounds like the only way to get away from it in the end. We had a domectic incident here a few years ago, in the hse opposite and kids were caught right in the middle of it and screaming at 3.30 in the morning. It was horrible.
Lyndasharp: have been think of you all weekend - bloke keeps his soft top morris minor outside our house (under cover mainly) but was reparirng it all weekend. It is a beauty.
Lynne - sorry to hear your mum has been nhosp: hope she is well on the mend. Have a great time in the orkneys: somewhere I would love to go.
So exciting to hear fom bails as well as sft: virtual travel is pretty good.
Rather wasted today not doing a lot for no obvious good reason. Still, the evening may save the day if I get my act together
Good to here from you andromache. Loads MIA: purplevamp & dND to name just 2. Hope you are doing well redglass.
Didn't get OH out of the bike Nyk:D. So I just made a cake and some flapjacks and swept and floor washed the hall, stairs, walk in laundry and bike shed (formerly know as the dining room) instead. Wll try again another day.
The pork /chorizo stew was very nice - not sure the orange lentil totally worked with it so may try another alteration next time, but 2 more meals worth in freezer to get through yet.
EDIT:just been chatting with bails direct from the roof of the world...
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Evening all (well, afternoon for you) :hello:
TTDB, really sorry to hear about your house situation, I agree that your family's wellbeing is more important and also understand how frustrated you must be. Hope you can find somewhere lovely to live. Hope your mum is okay SL X
Good work with the new space SM :T
Have read all the posts since I last wrote but not before so may have missed things, sorry - may try to catch up later.
Lovely to hear your news SFT, sounds like a wonderful time except the upset tummy  Roatan looks amazing, hope you can make it there.
You know I was concerned about the cold? I am absolutely sweltering here :rotfl:I sort of forgot about this section of the trip and how hot and muggy it would be in the monsoon. Last night OH and I wanted to run outside starkers when it was pelting it down but we restrained ourselves [anyone think this would count towards my skinny dip on 101?]
Kathmandu is a fantastic place, like India but a little more chilled out. It seems as if we have been here weeks rather than 2 days! We've moved hostel as we were lacking in privacy on the ground floor and now have a bigger room overlooking the foothills of the Himalaya. The rains come regularly several times a day and it's a beautiful sight watching the huge droplets and listening to it pummelling the roof. We're suffering a little from retail overload, not that we've actually bought anything just the shops are full of the things we love - cheap outdoors gear and funky clothes. Anyone who visits us will be fully laden on the way home (be warned BB)
Right, gotta dash, just had a good chat with BB and now need to find a blog to start. 'Speak' soon everyone xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
