As they don't know which post boxes you are going to put on your list and most of them these days only get empitied once a day I don't see the problem.

For example I could rush out and post something before 10am as they said so but the box I pick is only emptied at 5.30 every day. How is that going to help them in any way? All that's happened to the post is sit in the box all day. As long as it's in there before collection it will be treated in the same way as the other post.

Sorry but some people take this far too seriously. If we were getting paid even the minimum wage for doing it then fine but I do more than enough to earn the stamps they send each month.

I haven't a problem with the incentive. £6.76 a month in stamps is great. You don't get that guaranteed from any other survey site.

I can't see what hassle it is to do this. It takes up about 10 minutes a week preparing and posting, logging received items.

Even if it works out at an hour a month(which it doesn't), that's £6.76 an hour.

    And i enjoy doing it!

Sorry but i disagree, we are doing exactly what we were asked to do. And as for my postboxes, all of them have at least 2 collections a day.

I think with the number of people willing to do this properly you should seriously consider whether you should be doing this.
I think your find the time on the box is the LAST collection. The boxes are emptied throughout the day as the allocated van pasts. Its a change from when the times of collection for the day were displayed on the box. Unless your sitting watching your box 24 hours a day how do you know its only emptied at the end of the day every day?

If post boxes aren't being emptied during the day then this will be picked up if letters are correctly posted at the correct time.

If your not going to do it properly and not able to post and recieve letters during the day as requested maybe you shouldn't be doing it. I am sure there are a lot of people on here who would be quite happy to take your place.

Initially I did stick to posting the items in the time frames given. However, I've done this for more than a year now only taking notice of the actual day and nobody has complained from RI.

I would have thought that if it mattered that much I would have been kicked off by now, but I'm still on. And the FAQ seems to support this idea:
    9. When do I post my test items?

Post them before the latest collection time at your chosen post-box. If you are unable to post before the latest collection time then please post them on the same day of the following week before latest collection time at your chosen post-box.

Yep I do as well, the idea is they specify a time slot as its based on collection of the post boxes / post box so they know what time its gets franked at the post office, and then the deleivery to ensure that it meets the time standards.

I would say that if you cant do the posting plan, would it not be best to pull out and let someone who can post to be allowed to join. Sorry if that seems harsh, but we all have to manage the times given us, x

    Don't get me wrong mum2one.

I stick to the plan as much as I can as the post box is opposite my house but sometimes I am not near a post office at the time stated but I will still post the same day. We are talking about 1 out of say 10 times.

I am not going to pull out as they have told me I am very helpful to them and they want me on the team. Their words not mine...

    Thanks

Apologies I took it as every posting, that there was a prob, get confused with the post boxes as they use to have all the times, nows it just last collection.

I do post and receive letters during the day, just not always at times they specify. If they were unhappy with how I'm doing it then I'm sure they would have contacted me long before now.

I've just finished doing a misdelivery survey, think that one is the 5th now. I've had many extra letters to post and they've also recently sent me a presentation pack as a thank you - does that sound like they are annoyed with me?

As for other people wanting to join that is dependant on your postcode so doesn't really make any difference. For all you or I know I might be the only person in my area on the survey panel!

There are far too many people who post on this thread who think they know exactly how everyone else should be doing things. You do it how you want to and I'll do it how I want to.

With the thousands of people doing the survey it would be impossible to keep tabs on if everyone is doing it correctly and so they rely on the trust that people are.
Also the presentation packs are sent to everyone that keeps up to date with the data so I'd not feel like you were getting special treatment.

I don't want nor expect special treatment. However as you've said it means I'm keeping up to date with all the information they require which somewhat blows your argument of me not doing it properly out of the water.
