I've been having problems with missing documentation with the parcel survey. After receiving the parcel I filled in the form and sent this back to Kantar together with the requested wrapper and parcel insert.
A month or so later I got an email asking whether I had received the parcel and whether I had returned the paperwork, I confirmed by return email that I had.
A few weeks later I received another email asking the same question, so I sent my original answering email again together with a further note.
I heard nothing more after this, then this weekend I emailed them to ask what was happening and pointed out that I had also received a second parcel and that to be honest I was fed up with giving them both houseroom.
Today I received this -
"My name is Joanne and I work for Kantar Operations, on behalf of TNS Research International this e-mail is regarding the Royal Mail Parcel Monitor.
In regards to parcel #
our London office is asking that this parcel be returned to Kantar Operations, if I request you a parcels bag with the correct postage and return address on, are you ok to send this parcel back?
Unfortunately when returning parcels back to Kantar Operation, NO vouchers are given.":(
 I felt somewhat agrieved and wrote back saying as much, pointing out that it was no easier for me to return the parcel to London than it was to send it on to another panelist for which they would obviously pay. in fact this particular parcel has created more work and taken more time than normal. I finished up stating that I could either put in in next weeks rubbish and let the dustmen take it or they could honour their side of the bargain and I would return the parcel to them if they sent the earnt voucher together with the prepaid label.0 -

Do you shred everything you receive in the post - envelopes containing greetings cards, magazine subscriber sheets, window envelopes?
Sorry for not answering your query sooner LittleVoice.
As of now, anything appertaining to Kanter WILL be shredded, just to be on the safe side, other items, if they contain personal info get shredded, any other leters just get torn up into wee bits.Like good food and drink?

Personally I don't bother to shred envelopes as your postal details can be obtained via other means.
I do shred anything personally addressed to me with personal information and I already shred the RM weekly posting lists which contain other people's details.
I don't think that it will be necessary to shred all of the paperwork we currently receive with the RM surveys but other people may disagree.
My problem is that our local council do not like you putting shredded paper in the recycling bin so it makes it difficult to dispose of - my composting bins will only take so much mixed in with the household stuff.
Aberdeen City Council are the same, they discourage you not to put shredded paper in your white WasteAware bag, they ask you to put it in a wee box or a paper bag.Like good food and drink?

I shred everything that has other's or mine details on it, I tend to tear the address bit of the envelopes and just shread that bit meaning less shredded paper. Sorry but I hope other's are keeping my details safe as I am doing that for them.
No need to worry nickyt.Like good food and drink?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: That is what I used to do.(Tear it up that is, not try and jig-saw it so to speak)Like good food and drink?

I don't see the connection between getting an unfranked package and having something to post next week.
The stamps have been used (they have meant you received the survey package). It would not be ethical to try using them a second time.0 -
I think mum2one means she will be able to use the envelope that she got a test item in.As the stamps haven't been franked, she won't have to pay postage.0

Nothing wrong with re-using the envelope - but that is without those stamps, the value of which has already been used in getting the envelope and its contents to her.
Those used stamps are not part of the "reward" received for helping in the survey.
If Royal Mail provides a service, it should be paid for that service. Attempting to use stamps in the way you suggest is attemping not to pay them, trying to obtain advantage by deception.0 -
Ethics are tricky things, in this area it's probably best left to each person and their conscious to decide for themselves.0
