Just heard on the news that they want to privatise RM. I guess that will eventually stop the survey? :( What do you think?

Could be..... but I suspect even a privatised postal service will want to know how they are faring to keep up with the competition!

Right, have just finished working for the RM Survey Team so i'm available for any questions you might have. (Wasn't sure if i could post on here while i was still working for them.) Anyway i can clarify a few points from the posts I've just read.

There is a bit of a backlog at the moment with sending out the vouchers for the Mis-delivered survey (AKA Correctly Delivered.) It should be sorted by this week though.

It's always best to email in as the phones lines are only open 10-2.

The Unex survey cannot be done in conjunction with any other survey, and pays in Love to Shop vouchers. NB It is much more work than the RM survey, so only enquire if you really are willing to post almost daily. Spaces are limited though.

One final thing to mention is that for those of you receiving stamps, it's not something we like to tell people, but Royal Mail are obliged to buy them back off you (although they make a loss.) If you find yourself with a mountain of more stamps than you know what to do with (one gentleman had been doing the survey for several years and had £300 worth of stamps), you can approach RM to buy them back. (Let's not mention to anyone that they do this though, not sure I should have mentioned it here.)

    :)

Still new to MSE so say thanks if you found this interesting, and if you have any other general queries then simply post them up. (Only general queries, the helpline are still your best bet for genuine problems, although be patient with them as it's a small team and there's always a backlog)

Has anyone ever done this? I don't use the large letter stamps and have quite a few books of these now.

Can the large letter ones be used on normal size letters? I presume they can because the postage wil be over?

Not sure if you send many parcels but I put the large letter stamps on parcels, they are worth 66p.

Also large letter ones are good for sending cards to people, I mistakenly put a normal stamp on my friend's anniversary card and she had to go collect it and pay £1.10 shortage and admin fee! Whoops! I'm making sure I use a large letter stamp for her birthday card!

The only parcels I send are to the Netherlands and the PO print an airmail label for those. I do use them for large cards but only a couple of times a year. Might have to give them to my Dad lol.

Sell them on Ebay. There are loads that will buy them and normally near face value....
