Thanks for your reply.
I have removed the dust from the fan and it has not made the growling noise since. Keeping everything crossed. If it ain't broke I don't want to fix it.
PC seems happy enough. Had only 1 glitch day before yesterday where the CPU box opened up 34 times and I had to power down and start up again to clear them.
Thanks for the info on switching off McAfee. I will have a look at that and then download Java. It would be good to do the last remaining scan. OH getting fed up with the amount of time I am spending on PC so will leave it till he is at work tomorrow.Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0 -
