It's a bit like going to the store and asking the checkout person to not serve any more customers until your shopping is in the boot of your car, lol.Call me Carmine....

If only the the one thing in life to worry about is Tesco deliveries then you are a lot better off than most people :rolleyes:I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. If it's something you haven't ordered, they will often let you keep it and refund you anyway (assuming they had charged you in the first place). Tesco's customer service line is one of the most helpful in the country in my experience.
If it's a substitute the driver should have made you aware before he leaves, giving you ample time to hand it back.
Sainsburys CS line for online orders have been extraordinarily accommodating the 2 times we have had to ring them - both times rounding the refund figure up to the nearest pound! :eek:Call me Carmine....

I haven't had any trouble with Mr S if I do a delievery. I'm not very much use to the drivers as I can't walk well and carrying bags with my walking stick is really difficult. The person doing the delivery is very understanding if I'm the only one there and unloads it into the hall for me so I can sort it out in my own time and I have been asked if I wanted them to take it into the kitchen and to put the big/heavy items away! I thought that was a bit much but had a nice time talking to them while they were there. The times I used to use Mr T (I don't shop there anymore and haven't for ages now) the person didn't look very interested, didn't really aknowedge me, hurried me as much as they could to do everything without helping at all etc. All in all Mr T just seems to care about the money and nothing else so I don't care for them.I am a vegan woman. OMG - I didn't realise that people actually unpacked their stuff and expected the driver to wait???:eek:
Takes me about 3 mins to get all the stuff in to the kitchen - give them back the old bags and sign it off! I use Ocado and they always text beforehand with substitutions so I know if there will be gaps or other products anyway. but do you really expect the poor driver just to stand there like a muggins for 20mins whilst you go through it all???Noli nothis permittere te terere

i didnt even know you were allowed to take the crates indoors and unpack. i use the tesco naked delivery, and just stand on the doorstep, literally chucking the items into my hall, and up the stairs.
tbh, i quite like playing a game of beating the delivery driver, in that i have to have emptied my crates, before he comes back from the truck with the next lot :rotfl:
Also any substitutions are put in a separate bag, so they can easily, and quickly be returned to the driver if i dont want them. usually the first thing the driver does when i answer the door, is read me out all the substituions and then give me the invoice, and i decide (usually based on price of subs) whether to keep the items or not
Ive never felt rushed

And the Sainsbury drivers are very polite, but I would really want them on a calendar.

I do this as well, but the trouble is that if you find a mistake with fridge or frozen goods you have to return it to the store within two hours or they won't accept it back.
I didn't actually realise that some people unpacked everything with the driver waiting, that seems a bit rude.
If you have been given the wrong items- they should not accept it back. You could have "contaminated" the food items for all they know, they can't give it to the correct customer or put it back on the shelves.
I've had a few "treats" over the year for items that have been incorrectly delivered. The stuff that I may be missing instead you get a nice refund for and usual additional money off vouchers for the next shop.
Totally agree, that one should unpack there and then, it is not difficult.
All these delays just means drivers can complete fewer drops and thus delivery prices will have to rise to compensate for this.
If one has a "tricky" drop off (several flights of stairs or whatever) or insist on checking everything there and then , then then should be add an additional surcharge rather than penalise everyone else.0
