Welsh Water has a standing charge of 27 pounds for supply 50 pounds for sewerage :eek:!!!, I'm really against standing charges it punishes the low user, everyone should have to pay for what they use be it water gas electricity, the standing charge should be incorporated into the unit rate for all services, it would also make it a heck of a lot easier to compare prices between different suppliers.
