My favs are _ little slices of manchego cheese, olives, char grilled peppers dressed with oil and vinegar and garlic, patatas bravas - cubed potatoes fried in olive oil with garlic, tomato puree, herbs, chilli etc.,bruschetta with serrano jambon (Tesco or Lidl), prawns with chiil, garlic and olive oil/ little chunks of chorizo fried with onion and pepper, garlic stuffed mushrooms

Lots of these are ok at room temp and so could be done in advance

  • Pan de ajo, mmmm, get a clove of garlic with slices of toasted bread(ie tiger or bloomer) rub the garlic on the bread then some tomato cut in half rubbed on the bread then some salt and a drizzle of olive oil. You can have this with cheese, ham, serrano if you can get it if not thinly sliced boiled ham. You can add onion also.

In addition you can thinly slice some mushrooms and put balsamic vinigar on them.

    Hope thhis helps LTS.

  • when I was in gran canaria recently on the tapas menus there were canarian potatoes with mojo sauce. These were delicious and were everywhere you go there as its the local speciality. If you type into google you can easily find a recipe for them.

We weren't sure what to have for tea and DH suggested we all choose a mcrowave meal (mostly leftover portions in the freezer), I had a better idea and thought we could mix and match!

    We had

    -spicy lamb casserole
    -pork and leek casserole
    -meatballs in tomato sauce
    -rice
    -garlic bread
-sauteed courgettes and aubergines (lurking in the fridge)
    -chopped sausages
    -potato waffles quartered

Between the seven of us we had a banquet! Definitely recommend this as a great way of clearing some space in your freezer :T

Patatas Bravas is a quick/easy/cheap/tasty one to make:

  • Marinade some olives in olive oil, lemon and coriander seeds :D

As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread to give you more ideas.
