Can't anyone see? Controling prices controls the population!

We all have freedom of choice, but the institutions like government, businesses and religions are solely in our lives to control the masses.

Who cares whether we die of drug/alcohol abuse or even smoking related illnesses, apart from the friends or the families concerned.

This world is hell-bent on profit, the cheap loss-leaders are beneficial to us and at least we will know that should it lead us to an early grave, no-one has profited from it!

Yes there's another thread about this.

Picked up 12 bottles of the £4 GLENS GIN

Also 3 bottles of the £5 Organic Juniper Gin

And 8 bottles of the £5 Selekt Vodka

Something that hasn't been mentioned so far to my knowledge .....

15 year old ARMAGNAC - just £13 down from £26+ ............ bagged 6 bottles of that.

Only thing I missed out on (shelf empty) was some "normal" Brandy (under half price) at £8 per LITRE bottle.

Not all for me you understand - niece & brother-in-law informed of offers and asked us to acquire some for them.

Maybe I'm missing the point here but since when have children been allowed to drink alcohol??? Surely the arguement is not the cost of alcohol but the sale to children. I do not have a huge disposable income & I do not drink on a daily or even weekly basis but if & when I want a drink I want to be able to buy it as cheaply as possible for the brand I want. I do not want to be paying more because stores sell to children. As for people with no self control they will drink regardless of cost.

Think you are missing the point, rather :)

People are discussing adult alcohol abuse, nothing to do with children, at all...it's more they feel that supermarkets should have the right, nay the responsibility, to dictate how much we, as adults, drink, what we drink and so on.

Apparently we can't be treated like grown-ups and allowed to look after ourselves, we need the supermarkets to hold our hands and only let us afford as much alcohol as they feel is good for us...

You can buy PETROL cheaper than water in supermarkets. Which isn't either

But all that shows is that petrol is too cheap or water is too expensive ...

... given what you have to do to get the first and what you don't have to do to get the second !
If you're getting charged over £1 for a litre of water, you should change your supermarket!
