Estate Agent Using My House Sale as Advertising

I'd find something else to worry about - isn't life really hard if you find extra things to worry about? People can see your registration plate on your drive and around town every day. What does it mean? I mean really, if someone wanted to clone a car reg, they'd just go out and look for the right car or look at car websites; they'd hardly wait for estate agent's details to drop on the doormat.
Your picture has already been printed online, in the papers, in a shop window etc, why is it suddenly more vulnerable now that a sold board is outside? Move on!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Fully agree with you.
Perhaps the OP is after compo:DA retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.0 -
Having paid the EA £1700 for their services I do object slightly to them now using my sale for free advertising! But more annoying is the fact that the have printed picture with our car plus registration number clearly visible. I thought that at the very least the registration should have been "fuzzed" out. This is not the picture that they used in our original schedule.
They got you the sale by finding a buyer for your house. Free advertising? There are costs involved in printing the flyer, and delivering them. You may have a point about the car registration number being visible on the leaflet, but then it's displayed clearly on the front and back of your car for everyone to see wherever you drive it."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Obviously after an angle of some money from the agent I guess?
Just be pleased you have sold when many can't, nothing in the flyer is not already in the public domain is it
Move along.........0 -

Is it an embarrassing number plate?0 -
irvine - you need to get a life mate! :rolleyes:0

Just shows how desperate the EA must be if they think selling one house is such an amazing achievement that it's worth printing a load of flyers about!

So... you want them to pay you for the use of the picture? Or do you want them to keep quiet about the fact they've sold it, and not let anyone know...?
Agree car reg number shouldn't have been left in.0 -
What's wrong with including your reg plate? Are you frightened that your neighbours will learn the registration of your car and then use it to commit identity fraud on you?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
[Not sure entirely of the reasons for her actions, Doozergirl goes outside and rubs mud all over her number plates so people can't see them.]
Why don't we all just take our number plates off and keep them entirely secret!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
