The flights have been moved to the new times that you've been given - the flight numbers remain the same.

If you look at the LBA website today you can see that the TCX862L was due to land at 1715 and actually landed at 1651.

I think you are stuck with the new times -but quite rightly annoyed (I completly understand - getting to the airport at say 8am for a 9:30 departure is completely different to getting at the airport at 5:30am for a 7am departure). Even worse, as it is not a direct booking there is no chance of getting a flight change (though, if you dont ask you dont get) - particularly if there are no flights later in the day.

So I dont think you are making a mountain out of a molehill - but mountain or molehill you will have to live with it - just dont let it ruin your holiday (or your over tired children !)

Taken from Airflights website booking conditions.

Flights may be subject to change by the tour operator or airline, AFD as agents have no control over this. We will notify you if we are advised of any alterations. Reasons for changes will be stated on your flight change letter. If the change is of a minor nature or close to the departure date, tickets will be your notification. Your flight times should not exceed a change of more than 12 hours. If this occurs compensation or a free cancellation may be offered at the discretion of your tour operator.

Don't think you have any hope of getting money back as you agreed to these conditions when you booked.

Thanks - because I didnt have the flight numbers for the new flights yet I was concerned that they had just put us on another flight. I am still pretty amazed that they can do what they have done though - charging two different amounts and then putting you on the cheaper flight anyway! it has never happened before and I am pretty miffed about it - we always used to lose 2 days through tiredness and made a point of making sure that we got the flight times right to make the most of our holiday.

The flight numbers you quote are now the flights at 7am / 12:45pm. Looks to me like they may have combined two flights if they weren't fully booked?

Were both flights definately Thomas Cook (the 7am and 9am?) I would be surprised if Thomas Cook had 2 planned flights out of Leeds Bradford to the same destination within 2 hours on the same day. Air Flights sell tickets on many charter flights, they are just an agent. It is Thomas Cook that have moved the flight time.

For future reference when you book a charter flight they can move it 12, yes TWELVE hours without having to offer you anything. It can and does happen, holidays are already being sold for summer 2010, although the tour operator programmes will be tweaked before then, especially in this climate.

If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

I travel enough to know what is convenient and what is not, but thanks for your input telling me I am making a mountain out of a molehill!

FWIW, I'm with you on this. I would be enraged to not at least get a choice to rebook or cancel FOC. It's also one of the myriad of reasons I don't use charter airlines.
