Father/daughter relationships

My background is fairly similar to yours- parents split up when I was very young, saw Dad every other weekend for years then he got his own, new family and it all drifted a bit. I'm now grown up, married and pregnant and probably see him a couple of times a year, speak every couple of months on the phone and that is a struggle!
I must admit that I would be hacked off if my Dad said that about calling when I had something exciting to say, although my Dad has used some pretty poor excuses to end our calls in the past!
I guess at the end of the day I accept my Dad and all his faults becasue he is my dad, and when push comes to shove he has been there for me when I needed him most. That doesn't stop it hurting like hell when I feel like he's let me down, or when I feel like my step Mum is discouraging him from seeing me, but I guess we all have our family crosses to bear.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator
