There's a charity fundraising blog that has given the results of the July 2009 Which? guide to toilet roll quality and also lists current supermarket offers as part of its "Week of Charitable Bottoms", the idea being that participants would stock up as much cheaper-than-usual-but-still-acceptable loo roll and donate part of any saving.
It's a blog that offers a new moneysaving tip each week with the idea that you donate part of your saving to biomedical research into ME (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) - e.g. if you save a tenner you might donate a fiver. Please tell anyone you know with this condition about the site!0 -
Another vote for 'Nicky' from Farmfoods. Shades from Asda is pretty good too. Does anyone else do the 'squish' test? a loosely rolled roll that squish's to nothing is mainly air with not much paper on the roll, but a dense roll that doesn't 'squish' but cost more is better value for money. Educated my 21 yr old son on this is Tesco last week - he had to admit I was right but decided he needed to get out before he turned as nuts as me!! (he was only shopping with me so I picked up the bill - great money saving tip - don't shop with grown up kids until they earn enough to pay for you!!!) he he.Slightly bitter0

Nettos's 2 packs of 18 for £7, Nouvelle, or 1pack of 18 for £3.990

Agree with post re Netto, also my local market Nouvelle £1.99 for 9 rolls. You will often find less popular brands at one-off shops like our local freezer shop- bit bizarre but what the heck!Won Mulberry Bag Jan 090

I agree...everyone moaned at the beginning but now 2 years later no one mentions it and we all know no difference.
Buying expensive loo roll is like 'flushing money down the toilet'...lol

Silk Soft from Poundland. 6 rolls for £1 and comes in white or peach colours.0

i have got a poundland store, but its around 12miles away, netto's is only just down the road less than 1mile, add on the cost of travel to get to poundland and its not worth it in the long run.0
