Not sure why the BBC are running with this today, it's an old story, from a couple of months ago.
I heard this months ago too.
Also from the Independent:
"Several specialist coin dealers told The Independent yesterday that the 20p pieces could be worth up to £300 within five or 10 years, especially if they were kept in good condition and turn out to be particularly scarce."
So really unless you have a mint coin in 10 years there's not alot of point. And those ebay prices are ridiculous.
If I had one I'd have lost it by the time it's worth anything - I'm useless
The company offering the £50 for the coins are obviously hoping they'll get enough to make a big profit further down the line.Looking forward to the future.0 -
Could well be that same company pushed the story to the media and it's where you normally find their silly adverts. Once it starts it's soon parroted by the rest. Like F1 articles, most papers report constantly week old news, sometimes even older and unless they're spoon fed official press releases they'll usually crib off each other's Googled stories no where near an event. This is why sometimes when you read a write up to any event music or otherwise and you were actually there, the things they claim to have witnessed too just don't match up at all. It's because they were far too busy either feeding their faces at the complimentary troughs, or just not there at all writing hyper plagiarised 3rd party fiction down the pub.0
